Nine Mortal Ways Clue
Follow the Well of Heaven Clue
The Nine Mortal Ways clue doesn't appear until you reach Harvestfall Village, the location indicated by the Well of Heaven Sect clue. This indicates that the two sect quests overlap, and the quest events that are about to unfold are connected.
Luckily, the Well of Heaven clue is available as soon as you reach or go above level 10, which is the minimum level requirement to unlock sects.

| 1 |  Progress through the main campaign until you reach level ten. Level ten is the minimum level required to join Sects, so make sure to progress the game first. ▶︎ How to Level Up |
| 2 |  Head to Harvestfall Village in the western part of the Qinghe Region. Go to the restaurant and look for a waiter named San Qian. |
| 3 |  San Qian will ask for compensation for the information he has. Pay him the 200 coins he's asking for and he'll direct you to your next objective. |

| 5 |  Go up the mountain and talk to Zhang Yihao. He will then ask you to bring him three items of ill-gotten wealth. However, you only need the large pile of jewels he's carrying, so you don't need to gather all three pieces of ill-gotten wealth. You can take these from him using either the Mystical Skill Celestial Seize or the Seize mechanic. ┣ Use Celestial Seize ┗ Seize the Pile of Jewelry From Zhang Yihao |
| 6 |  Go back to the Well of Heaven Elder and talk to him. He'll congratulate you for officially joining the Nine Mortal Ways. Select the I'll Go With the Flow dialog to be welcomed into the Nine Mortal Ways Sect and receive the Mortal Rope Dart Martial Art. Note: Selecting the Not happy. I quit! dialogue option will lead you to the real Well of Heaven Sect. Choose this option only if you want to join the real Well of Heaven Sect! ┗ Declining the Fake Elder's Offer |
Use Celestial Seize
One of the easiest ways to obtain the pile of jewelry is to use the Celestial Seize Mystic skill. This allows you to get the pile of jewelry from a good distance away with a high chance of success. Make sure to approach Zhan Yihao undetected and use the skill outside of his line of sight.

Seize the Pile of Jewelry From Zhang Yihao
You can attempt to obtain the big pile of Jewelry from Zhang Yao by entering Wind Sense mode and seizing it from him. Note that you will need a high level to successfully seize it, so this normally wouldn't be a viable option early in the game if you're trying to join the Nine Mortal Ways as soon as possible.
Please note that you can only attempt to take it from him twice a day. If you fail both times, you will have to wait until the next day to try again.
Declining the Fake Elder's Offer
If you decline the Well of Heaven Elder's offer, he and Long Fei will attack you. Defeating them will cause them to leave the area and essentially lock you out of joining the Nine Mortal Ways through this questline.
We recommend accepting the Elder's offer to join the sect, since you can leave and rejoin without completing any quests.
If you have already declined the Fake Elder's invitation, you can still join the Nine Mortal Ways through the Midnight Blades questline.
Midnight Blades Questline

| 2 |  Head to Halo Peak and talk to the Seriously Injured Swordsman Seriously Injured Swordsman  |
| 3 |  Follow the bloodstained path until you reach Icchantika, then speak with him. Select the My heart is that of an Asura dialogue option, and he will give you a rogue token. Give him the token immediately to start an alternate questline and join the Nine Mortal Ways. |
| 4 |  If you give the incorrect token to Icchantika, you will immediately receive a Mysterious Invitation letter from the Chief Elder of the Midnight Bladez. |
| 5 |  Head to the quest objective located in the southwest of the Qinghe region. Present the Midnight Blade Message to the sect leader to immediately become a member of the Nine Mortal Ways. You will also immediately receive the Mortal Rope Dart Martial Art upon joining. |
As an alternative, you can join the Nine Mortal Ways sect by initiating the Midnight Blades quest line. The same level requirement applies: you must reach level 10 to join any sect.

How To Leave Nine Mortal Ways
Steps on How To Leave the Nine Mortal Ways Sect
| 1 |  While you are in the game with an active character, access the menu and choose Sect. |
| 2 |  On the sect menu screen, navigate to the bottom right portion and click or press the Betray Master button. |
| 3 |  You will be asked to confirm your decision to leave the sect. Press the Confirm button to proceed. |
| 4 |  After confirming your decision to leave the Nine Mortal Ways sect, you will receive an objective to locate Ni Laoshan, the current sect elder. He will ask for 50,000 coins in exchange for leaving the sect. |
The Nine Mortal Ways differ from other sects in that they do not require their members to undergo a Severance Trial.
Instead, sect members will be required to pay the mandatory 50,000 coin fee to Ni Laoshan. This step is mandatory; you cannot leave the sect unless you pay Ni Laoshan.

Elder Ni Laoshan is located on the western side of Harvestfall Village. He can be found standing outside near one of the houses.

All members receive a title when they join a sect. Additional titles become accessible when members reach a higher sect rank. Titles are exclusive to sects and are lost when a member leaves.

Nine Mortal Ways members have access to their own sect shop. Items in the shop can be purchased using coins or reputation.
Exclusive Cosmetic Items
Members who have risen to the rank of Inner Disciple can purchase exclusive hairstyles and armor. You can keep your outfits even if you leave the sect, so if you're only interested in acquiring the cosmetics and have no plans to stay with that sect, you can leave freely.

Access to the Mortal Rope Dart
All members are immediately given access to the Mortal Rope Dart upon joining the sect. This damaging melee DPS weapon has good persistent effects and pairs well with many melee weapons, most notably the Infernal Twinblades.

Members with the Inner Disciple rank or higher can participate in weekly Sect elections. The winner gets to hold the title of Clan Master for one week, until the next election begins.
Clan Master Eligibility
Faction Masters have the sole right to register for the next Sect elections. They will need to pay a 10,000 coin application fee to cover campaign preparation costs.
Only Faction Masters can run in the next election, and current Clan Masters are prohibited from participating.
Sect Values
Gather 100 Fun Points Weekly
Members of the Nine Mortal Ways sect must participate in activities that generate Fun Points and accumulate 100 of them weekly.
The three main activities that generate Jovial Moments are posting fake messages, using fake red envelopes, and playing the Madio Cards minigame.
Posting Fake Messages
Instead of regular messages, Nine Mortal Ways members can create fake invitations and send them to their friends or other people in the channel.
To send a fake message, go to the sect status menu and click on the Jovial Moments icon. Then, click on Fake Message.
Sending Fake Red Envelopes
You can send fake red envelopes that display the illusion of having plenty of coins inside to anyone applicable. You can purchase Fake Red Envelopes in the sect shop at any time for coins.
Play Madiao With Other Wanderers
You can earn Jovial Moments by playing the Madiao mini-game. Since the game involves making the right calls and bluffing your way to victory, it aligns perfectly with the Nine Mortal Ways sect's values.
