Complete the Encounter: Scammer Victims

The Art of Resistance: Tome is a reward for completing the Scammer Victims encounter. To unlock this encounter, you will need to complete the Exploration Quest Initiation: Well of Heaven Elder. After completing this, walk up the path leading to Zhang Yihao's location to trigger the quest.

You Can Leave the Nine Mortal Ways Sect for 50,000 Coins
After realizing that the whole quest was a scam and accidentally joined the Nine Mortal Ways, you can cut ties with the Sect by selecting the Betray Master button in the Sect menu. This triggers a quest where you must speak with the sect master and pay 50,000 Coins to leave.
Scammer Victims Encounter Missing Trigger
If you can not trigger the quest after finishing Initiation: Well of Heaven Elder follow these steps to initiate the encounter:
- After finishing Initiation: Well of Heaven Elder, advance the time 5-6 days forward.
- Start a new quest, it can be any Encounter or Exploration Quest. You do not need to complete this quest, but do at least one objective from it.
- Make sure that you only have two Encounters active; otherwise the quest will not spawn since you can only have three encounters active at the same time.
- After completing an objective from the current quest, walk down the path leading to where Zhang Yihao is on the cliffs. About as far as where the Mysterious Outpost is.
- From there, walk back up to the top, and the quest should trigger before you reach the tree where Zhang is.
- If you still fail to spawn the quest, log off from the game and repeat from step 1.

Art of Resistance Breakthrough Tier Bonuses

| 2 | Rock Splitting Attack increased, effect scales with Solo Mode level. |
| 3 | While under the protection of HP shield, increases all damage and healing done by 2%. |
| 4 | Increases the duration of your own HP shield and the bonus effects by a further 2 seconds (6 seconds in total). |
| 5 | Rock Splitting Penetration increased by 6 points. |
| 6 | If your HP shield is not broken during its duration, immediately recover HP equal to 25% of the remaining shield amount (reduced to 5% in Duel environments). This effect does not apply to immune damage shields. |
Upgrading Internal Arts increases their tier, allowing them to grant additional bonuses. These range from general stat improvements to enhancements of the passive effects provided by the Internal Art.
Use Internal Art Advance Items to Upgrade
To upgrade tiers, you must first reach Solo Mode Level 4, also referred to as Level 4 Roaming. Afterward, you'll need Art of Resistance: Notes, which can be obtained through various means, most notably through the Tips Exchange.
