Found in Chest in a House after Defeating Void King

 Head to the Mist Gate after defeating Void King and continue on its path until you reach a house with purple trees. Opening the chest will reward the tome for Bitter Seasons. |
Start the Gleaming Abyss quest and defeat the void king to access the Mist Gate. Pass through the mist gate and take the path upwards until you reach the house with purple trees; the chest containing the Bitter Seasons tome is inside the house.

| When dealing damage, there is a 10% chance to apply a Poison effect for 5 seconds, dealing damage once per second. The Poison reduces target's Physical Defense by 0.6% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 5 times (duration refreshed upon stacking). | |
Bitter Seasons is an Epic Internal Art that does not belong to any Path of Martial Arts and provide more general effect. This makes them perfect complimentary Internal Arts to get for a lot of builds.
Bitter Seasons Breakthrough Tier Bonuses
Tiers and Bonuses
| Tier | Breakthrough Tier Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1 | Increases the Physical Defense reduction of each Poison stack to 1.2%. |
| 2 | Increase Precision Rate based on Solo Mode Level. |
| 3 | When attacked, there is a 10% chance to apply one stack of Poison to the attacker. |
| 4 | Increases the chance to apply Poison when dealing damage to 15%. |
| 5 | Increases Physical DMG Bonus by 2.5%. |
| 6 | At 5 stacks, the Poison also reduces the target's Physical Resistance by 10. |
Upgrading Internal Arts increases their tier, allowing them to grant additional bonuses. These range from general stat improvements to enhancements of the passive effects provided by the Internal Art.
Use Internal Art Advance Items to Upgrade
To upgrade tiers, you must first reach Solo Mode Level 4, also referred to as Level 4 Roaming. Afterward, you'll need Bitter Seasons: Notes, which can be obtained through various means, most notably through the Tips Exchange.
