To unlock the Wandering Tale, Dead Man’s Secret, speak with Sun Yutang at the entrance of the Serpant's Lair in Encircling Lake. The lair will be east of the intersection north of the Encircling Lake Boundary Stone. He will ask you to find the Snake King's bones to enter the lair.

- Return to Sun Yutang
- Enter The Serpent's Lair
- Return the Manuscript to Yutang
1. Speak with Sun Yutang
After speaking with Sun Yutang, you will receive the Damaged Manuscript which will contain the location of the Snake King’s Bone Shard.
2. Examine the Manuscript
Open your bag and check your quest items, examine the manuscript to get the map of the Snake King’s Bone Shard Locations. There are three fragments that you need to look for, found in different locations northwest of Encircling Lake.
3. Go to the First Location
| 3.1 |  On the road southwest of where Sun Yutang is, you can find the Snake King’s Bone Shard in a basement beside the enemy Camp. Mighty Drop on the cracked ground to drop into the basement. |

| 3.2 |  Hug the wall to the right and jump onto the large rock to avoid the snakes. Once you are in a safe spot, use Celestial Seize to take the chest from the large snake. |
4. Go to the Second Location
| 4.1 |  Go back to where Sun Yutang is and climb the mountain where the lair is. You will hear snakes in the grass, so be careful not to step in there. Climb the stone hill until you are placed behind the yellow snake. |

| 4.2 |  From there, use Celestial Seize to take the Snake King’s chest. Head to the last location. |
5. Go the the Third Location
| 5.1 |  The last location is farther away, from the Lair head northeast. Across the river, you will see a very large tree. Head towards it to get to the next area. The easier way to get there is to teleport to the Back Mountain Boundary Stone and follow the path west to the large tree. |

| 5.2 |  The area will be filled with snakes. Go around the back of the tree. If you're coming from the riverside, use the rock hills to avoid the snakes and jump onto the overturned carriage behind the tree. If you used the boundary stone, then you can hop onto the carriage without any snakes in your way. |
| 5.3 |  From there, use Celestial Seize to take the Snake King’s chest. Make your way back to Yutang at the entrance of the Serpent’s Lair. |
6. Return to Sun Yutang
Deliver the three Snake King Bone Shards to Yutang. He will ask for your help in retrieving his great-uncle Sun Buqi’s manuscript inside the lair.
7. Enter The Serpent's Lair
After receiving the Snake King Bone, enter the Serpent’s Lair. Examine the strange corpse in the pit. You will find a note on the body. The cure for the snake venom can twist a person’s mind.
You Can Challenge the World Boss Snake Doctor
While not part of the quest, If you enter the passage that goes deeper in the cave, you can challenge the world boss Snake Doctor to test your skill.

8. Return the Manuscript to Yutang
Go back out of the Serpent’s Lair and deliver the notes to Yutang to end the quest.
