You can purchase the Adaptive Steel tome in exchange for oddities from Qi Sheng, the Oddities Exchange NPC. You can find Qi Sheng between the General's Shrine Boundary Stone and the Verdant Wilds Wayfarer.
You would need around at least 26 Oddities to unlock the node that rewards you with the Adaptive Steel tome.

Gain a Martial Skill effect based on the blade weapon you are using. The Martial Skill of Sword has a 10-second cooldown, while Dual Blades' Martial Skill has a cooldown of 25 seconds.
Possible Effects:
・ Sword: 10% chance to apply one stack of Bleed to the target when dealing Affinity DMG. ・ Spear: Attacks ignore 12.5% of target's Physical Defense. ・ Dual Blades: After a Perfect Dodge, increases the next Martial Arts Skill damage within 8 seconds by 25%. ・ Mo Blade: Increases the Critical DMG of Charged Skill and Parry Counter Skills by 20%. |

Adaptive Steel is an Epic Internal Art that strongly synergizes with the Bellstrike - Umbra path of Martial Arts, further enhancing the mechanics of that playstyle.

| 3 | After casting the Weapon Switch Skill, increases your own Movement Speed by 20%. If it hits a target, reduces their Movement Speed by 20%. Both speed increase and decrease effects lasts 5 seconds. |
| 4 | Casting a Dual-Weapon Skill restores 10 Endurance. |
| 5 | Increases Bellstrike DMG Bonus by 3%. |
| 6 | After casting a Dual-Weapon Skill, the previous Weapon Mastery effect will remain for 10 seconds. |
Upgrading Internal Arts increases their tier, allowing them to grant additional bonuses. These range from general stat improvements to enhancements of the passive effects provided by the Internal Art.
Use Internal Art Advance Items to Upgrade
To upgrade tiers, you must first reach Solo Mode Level 4, also referred to as Level 4 Roaming. Afterward, you'll need Adaptive Steel: Notes, which can be obtained through various means, most notably through the Tips Exchange.
