How to Unlock Initiation: Well of Heaven Elder

Initiation: Well of Heaven Elder can be unlocked by speaking with San Qian'er in the restaurant of Harvestfall Village. Approach the waiter and pay the fee to get the location of the Well of Heaven Elder.

- Confront the Fake Well Of Heaven Elder
1. Look for the Well of Heaven Elder
After getting the intel from San Qian'er, make your way to where the Well of Heaven Elder is recruiting new members. Speak with him about your interest in joining the Well of Heaven sect.
2. Get the Large Pile of Jewelry From Zhang Yihao
Pay the Elder 999 coins. After this, he will ask you to retrieve a large pile of jewelry from Zhang Yihao, whom you can find on the cliff near the Mysterious Outpost.
There are two options you can choose from to get the Large Pile of Jewelry:
Option 1: Seize the Item from Zhang Yihao
| Steps | Objectives |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Use Wind Sense to check Zhang Yihao's inventory. Select the Large Pile of Jewelry and request it. You will only have the option to seize it. |
| 2 |  Since the item was forcefully taken, this will be counted as a crime, guards will begin chasing after you. You do not need to fight the guards, look at the mini map and run out of the bounds of the red ring to stop the guards from chasing after you. |
| 3 |  Return to the Elder and hand over the Large Pile of Jewelry. |
Option 2: Join the Well of Heaven Sect and Take it From the Chest
| Steps | Objectives |
|---|---|
| 1 |  The second option is to open the chest by joining the Well of Heaven Sect. From the menu select Sects and fulfill the requirements needed to join. |
| 2 |  To get into the sect, you need to earn 200 Adventure Slips. You can do this by participating in multiplayer activities in the Wandering Paths. The Heart of the Healer provides the largest amount of tickets at 100 per play, while Blessed Land and Five Animal Frolics can let you earn tickets passively at 40 tickets each. |
| 3 |  To get ill-gotten wealth, find Hao Jiu, the Honest Merchant. This merchant can be found in two different locations depending on when you are doing this quest: Pre-Chapter 1 Completion - He can be found beside the largest tree in Blissful Retreat. Post-Chapter 1 Completion - He is in the open area across the restaurant in Harvestfall Vilage. |
| 4 |  The next step will require a bit of spending. Purchase any type of wine from the Honest merchant. You will randomly receive a prize every time you take a drink. Keep drinking until you receive three pieces of ill-gotten wealth. Be careful since drinking too much will make you drunk and give you indigestion and a random ailment. This can also give you a chance to learn the skill Drunken Poet. |
| 5 |  Once you have all the requirements, go back to Zhang Yihao and join the Well of Heaven Sect. You will be able to open the chest, which has the Large Pile of Jewelry and learn the Thundercry Blade. Return to the Elder once you have obtained this. |
3. Confront the Fake Well Of Heaven Elder
The Well of Heaven Elder is fake, and you have been scammed by the Nine Mortal Ways Sect! Confront the elder and his disciple and defeat them in battle to complete the quest.
