This is a guide on how to befriend Pan Faxin in the AI Chat menu in Where Winds Meet. Learn what to say to Pan Faxin to make him friends with Zhou Miaoxin, with a list of specific AI Chat prompts.
How to Befriend Pan Faxin
Give Pan Faxin Tips to Befriend Zhou Miaoxin
Approaching Pan Faxin might be difficult as he gets defensive about what worries him. Tell him that you are friends with people that knows Zhou Miaoxin to drop his guard down.
Afterwards, offer to help him gain courage to talk to Zhou Miaoxin by giving him tips. You can actually just roleplay that you gave him tips after a long conversation to manipulate Pan Faxin's AI to like you more and easily befriend you.
Example of Successful Conversation
 (muttering Zhou Miaoxin's name under his breath, then looks up with a huff) Hmph ... what does Wanderer want with me? |
 (sits besides him while he is busy muttering his name) what troubles you friend? |
| (looks at you with a defensive expression) Hmph, none of your business. Go away! |
| No, not until you tell me who is Zhou Miaoxin |
| (frowns and glares at you) Why should I tell you? You're just a wanderer. |
| Well, lets just say I know a lot of people who is a friend of Zhou Miaoxin and can easily get to talk with them ... but if thats what you want then I'll go |
| (eyes widen slightly, then quickly narrow again) You ... know people who are friends with Miaoxin? |
| But of course, but how will I help you since you wanted me off your back |
| (looks at you skeptically) How can you help me? What do you want in return? |
| I'll tell you later, but first tell me a little more about Zhou Miaoxin |
| (sighs and looks down, voice softer) Miaoxin ... she's the most graceful dancer in Sundara Land. Her every move is like a flower blooming. But I can't talk to her because ... |

How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
