List of Contents

The best difficulty to start with is Legend Difficulty, the main reason for this is because you can only select this option during your character creation, making this a missable. If you find it hard after trying it out, you can change to an easier game mode in the settings. Keep in mind, that once you lower the difficulty you wont be able to go back.
Should You Choose Legend Difficulty?
| Difficulty | Difference |
|---|---|
| Story | Lower enemy difficulty during exploration. Extra time stops and assist prompts when enemies (can be disabled in Settings → Display). Recommended for players who focus on exploration and story. |
| Recommended | Balanced enemy difficulty during exploration. No extra time stop and assist prompts when enemies use skills (can be disabled in Settings → Display). Recommended for players who prefer moderate difficulty. |
| Expert | Very high enemy difficulty during exploration. Assist Deflection is disabled—no time-frozen or assist prompts will appear when enemies use skills. Recommended for players who enjoy high-difficulty combat challenges. |
| Legend | Greatly increased enemy difficulty during exploration. Defeat bosses to accumulate unique identifiers and badges. Unable to turn on extra time stop and assist prompts when enemies use skills. |
| Hardcore | Defeat in Hardcore mode will cause you to lose your character permanently. Coming Soon! |
The difficulty settings mostly revolve around the presence of time stops and assist detection. Enemies also become tougher and possess higher health as the difficulty increases.
As of now, Hardcore mode has not been released in the game. Stay tuned for further announcements of its accessibility in the future.

Changing the difficulty settings between Story, Recommended, and Expert modes is accessible through the Settings via the Menu. Go to the Game section in the Settings and change the difficulty accordingly in Combat Difficulty.
You cannot change the difficulty setting to Legend once the account is made.
As of the game's release, there are no trophies tied to the player's chosen difficulty. Players can still progress towards the Platinum trophy without changing difficulties.
