This is a guide on how to befriend Xi Gema in the AI Chat menu in Where Winds Meet. Encourage Xi Gema to make friends and gift him a gift with a list of specific AI Chat prompts.
How to Befriend Xi Gema
Motivate Him to Make Friends and Give Him a Gift
Xi Gema seems to be a lonely kid and is called weird by the people around him. Try to talk him through opening up and letting people get to know him better, then give him a gift at the end to finalize your friendship with his AI.
Example of Successful Conversation
(muttering to himself) I was broken from a young age, taking my sulking to the masses—hah! You made me a believer... yeah, you really did—believer, believer! (strikes an overdramatic hero pose) |
 I love your hero pose! But heroes have friends too! Have you tired opening up to anyone yet? It may help you feel stronger! |

(arms clasped behind back, suddenly breaks into a dash) Whoa—sorry, wanderer, my mind was somewhere else just now! Guess I've been running on split paths, living two lives, trying to play both sides, never really finding my own place—oh! Called a problem child 'cause I got too wild, but hey, that's just how someone like me survives. (pauses, then pouts) But you know, sometimes I wonder if opening up might just make me weaker. |

(glances aside, pretending calm) Everyone's swapping gifts now, flashing shingy things like trophies, but whatever—let it go, I won't cry, I'll stand right here and stay right here, storms and all... none of that ever bothered me anyway. (sighs) But you know, it's not about what you can get from me. It's about whether I even want to let anyone in. |

How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
