How to Unlock Lone Wanderer's Wish

Approach Mercy Hall in Kaifeng

Lone Wanderer's Wish starts after saving Yue Baiwei from bandits just outside Mercy Hall.
Lone Wanderer's Wish Walkthrough
- Save Yue Baiwei
- Grab the Key from the Nest in a Treet
- Go to the Ruined Tower
- Head Down the Cellar
- Listen to the Phantom
- Defeat Sang Jisheng
- Give the Note to Yue Baiwei
1. Save Yue Baiwei
Approach Mercy Hall and you'll see a group of bandits attacking a woman, Yue Baiwei, who is part of the Silver Needle sect.
Kill the bandits and untie her, then speak to her and ask her questions about the collapse of Mercy Hall. She'll then give you the Mercy Hall Map Fragment which has clues on how to access the cellar in the town.
2. Grab the Key from the Nest in a Tree
Make your way to the center of the town and defeat the three enemies in front of the large tree. Hop up the tree and grab the Half Key: Left from the nest between the branches.
3. Go to the Ruined Tower
Just north of the tree is a ruined tower. Go behind the tower and jump through the hole to access its interior.
Grab the Pot to Obtain the Key
Head down the ladder and grab the pot on the floor to get the second key. You'll automatically combine the two key halves to get the Cellar Key.
4. Head Down the Cellar
Head inside the house next to the tower and interact with the trap door with the green rug to access the hidden cellar. There are a few enemies underground, but they are not that particularly tough.
Note: You can investigate a few items in the underground cellar, such as dishes and the floor, but they're not required to progress the quest.
Shoot the Blue Flower with Fire Arrows
You'll eventually reach a blocked passage with a blue flower. Shoot the blue flower with a fire arrow to get access to the large chamber ahead.

5. Listen to the Phantom
There's a phantom of Sang Jisheng in the chamber that appears to be relieving the past. Approach the ghost and listen in on their conversation to get some backstory on what happened to Mercy Hall.
You'll need to listen to the phantom several times in this room to progress to the next area. Once you've relived all of the Phantom's memories, proceed to the next area by entering a hole in the wall to enter a room.
Take Su Mao's Family Letter to Complete The Wailing of Six-Ailment
The last phantom conversation you listen to is between Su Mao and Sang Jisheng. Examining Su Mao's corpse, you get a key and a Family Letter. You need this letter to complete the interconnected Wandering Tale The Wailing of Six-Ailment.

Join the Phantoms
Past the room is another blue flower that you need to destroy with a fire arrow. Once the passage is clear, you'll need to listen to Sang Jisheng's phantom again in the next chamber.
Progress the dialogue and you'll be given a prompt to join them. You'll then need to push open the large door to access the lowest part of the cellar.
6. Defeat Sang Jisheng
Sang Jisheng awaits you at the deepest part of the cellar. He has turned into a Glorious Sleeping Puppet.
While he has more health than the other enemies in the cellar, he has the same sluggish moveset and is easily put down. Defeat him to obtain Sang Jisheng's Final Note.
Take the Mercy Hall Notes Before Leaving
In the boss area, go to where a long table is. Take the Mercy Hall Notes from the table to spawn the exit. Turn around to see a little white beam with an icon on top of it. Approach it to leave the cellar.
7. Give Sang Jisheng's Note to Yue Baiwei
Return to the spot where you rescued Yue Baiwei and give him her brother's final note. You'll have the option to tell her the truth or hide the truth.
Your choice only affects how Yue Baiwei reacts, though we recommend you tell the truth since she'll have a more hopeful response. Finish her dialogue to complete the quest.
