Well of Heaven Clue
Available After Reaching Level Ten
The Well of Heaven clue is available as soon as you reach or go above level 10, which is the minimum level requirement to unlock sects. The clue will lead you to Harvestfall Village, where the official Sect initiation quest begins.
How to Join Well of Heaven

Steps on How to Join Well of Heaven
| Step | Objective |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Progress through the main campaign until you reach level ten. Level ten is the minimum level required to join Sects, so make sure to progress the game first. ▶︎ How to Level Up |
| 2 |  Head to Harvestfall Village in the western part of the Qinghe Region. Go to the restaurant and look for a waiter named San Qian. |
| 3 |  San Qian will ask for compensation for the information he has. Pay him the 200 coins he's asking for and he'll direct you to your next objective. NOTE: San Qian will not appear in Online Mode, so if you can't find him, you might need to switch to Solo Mode. |
| 4 |  Speak with the Well of Heaven Elder. He will ask you to pay 900 coins. Give him the coins and he will ask you to retrieve a large pile of jewelry from his old friend. Getting the large pile of jewelry isn't required as this is actually a Nine Mortal Ways member in disguise. Nonetheless, go to Zhang Yihao for the next step. |
| 5 |  Go up the mountain and talk to Zhang Yihao. He will then ask you to bring him three items of ill-gotten wealth. You can obtain the necessary ill-gotten gains from multiple sources, but we'll use the Gift of Gab method, as this doesn't require us to leave Harvestfall Village. |
| 6 |  The closest target for ill-gotten wealth is the Well of Heaven Elder you spoke to before Zhang Yihao. Engage in the Gift of Gab minigame to obtain the two pieces of ill-gotten wealth from him. Note that you can only challenge him twice per day. If you lose, you have to wait until the next day to challenge him again for one or both of the ill-gotten wealth items. ┣ Use Celestial Seize ┗ Alternative Sources of Ill-Gotten Wealth |
| 7 |  For the last piece of ill-gotten wealth, return to San Qian and challenge him to the Gift of Gab minigame. Since he only has one piece, you can afford to lose to him at least once. |
| 8 |  Gather 200 Adventurer Slips by participating in co-op. This can be any activity of your choice, such as challenging others to a game of Madiao, Pitch Pot, or wrestling. |
| 9 |  Once you have collected all three pieces of ill-gotten wealth and accumulated 200 Adventurer Slips, return to Zhang Yihao. He will accept you into the Well of Heaven sect and you will receive the Thundercry Blade Martial Art. Note: If you join the Well of Heaven through this method, you will be unable to join the Nine Mortal Ways through this questline. ┗ Nine Mortal Ways Questline Lockout |
Use Celestial Seize
One of the easiest ways to obtain the pile of jewelry is to use the Celestial Seize Mystic skill. This allows you to get the ill-gotten wealth from a good distance with a high chance of success. Make sure to approach your target undetected and use the skill outside of their line of sight.
You can use Celestial Seize on both San Qian and the Nine Mortal Ways member who is posing as a Well of Heaven elder.

Alternative Sources of Ill-Gotten Wealth
If you don't want to play the Gift of Gab minigame, you can buy wine from any vendor that sells it, with Hao Jiu in Blissful Retreat being the closest. Drinking the wine may result in the Black Market Goods item to appear, which provides ill-gotten wealth when opened.
If you haven't obtained the Drunken Poet Mystic Art yet, this method is also a good way to learn it.
Just note that excessive wine consumption can negatively impact your character's health via debuffs. If you choose this method, you may need to visit a health clinic afterwards.
Nine Mortal Ways Questline Lockout
If you join the Well of Heaven before completing the Nine Mortal Ways questline, you will essentially be locked out of joining the Nine Mortal Ways through this method.
If you return to the fake Well of Heaven Elder, the option to join the Nine Mortal Ways will not appear in the dialogue. Only the Not happy, I quit! option will appear.
Completing this questline will prevent you from obtaining the Art of Resistance Inner Way. If you think you might need this Inner Way later on, it is recommended that you join the Nine Mortal Ways before joining the Well of Heaven.
Joining Well of Heaven After Leaving Nine Mortal Ways

| 1 |  If you initially joined the Nine Mortal Ways and now want to join the Well of Heaven, first leave the Nine Mortal Ways Sect, then talk to Zhang Yihao. If you did not previously give Zhang Yihao the three pieces of ill-gotten wealth, you will need to gather them and give them to him later. Talk to him to begin the quest. |
| 2 |  Zhang Yihao will ask you to help the victims of the Nine Mortal Ways Sect. Begin by teleporting to Wildmane Ranch and looking for Mei Chuanyi. He will be on top of the tree and ask you to defeat some geese. Defeat the three geese below him and give him the coin he asks for to complete this step. |
| 3 |  Head back to Harvestfall Village and look for Chi Bula, who is lying on the ground next to a cooking hearth near the sea. Use the hearth to cook the dish with the recipe he gave you, then give the dish to him. Then, give him the coins he's asking for and move on to the next step. |
| 4 |  The last victim, Long Zai, can be found trapped behind some rocks. He is located near the Porcelain Kiln, just a short walk from where Chi Bula is. |
| 5 |  Long Zai will ask you to free him. You can do so by using the explosives to the right of his location. Grab the explosives, set them on the rocks, then use your fire arrows to trigger the explosion. Once the rocks are destroyed, give him the coins he is asking for. |
| 6 |  The next objective is to return to Chengshi, which is nearby. Head west of the tree in the objective area and use Wind Sense to find the tracks. Follow the path, and you will eventually reach Chengshi. |
| 7 |  Chengshi will reveal himself to be a fake and will actually turn out to be a member of the Nine Mortal Ways. Then, the real Chengshi will appear. Defeat the fake Chengshi and he will drop a greasy pouch. Pick it up and talk to the real Chengshi to finish the encounter. |
| 8 | Gather 200 Adventurer Slips by participating in co-op. This can be any activity you choose, and you can achieve it in whatever way works best for you. |
| 9 |  Go back to Zhang Yihao and ask if you can join the Well of Heaven Sect. Hand him the three pieces of ill-gotten wealth obtained by your preferred method. He will allow you to join the Well of Heaven sect, giving you immediate access to the Thundercy Blade Martial Art. |
Joining via Direct Invitation
You can join the Well of Heaven sect by performing certain actions in the game, which will result in a direct invitation. Accepting the invitation via letter will make you a sect member immediately, without the need for additional steps.
The invitation will eventually expire, so be sure to decide whether you want to join before then.

You can receive a direct invitation by spending 5,000 Echo Jades to buy ten pieces of Morale Chant Inner Way from Tang Bao in Blissful Retreat. It's accessible quite early in the game, and the Inner Way can be used in many builds, making it a worthwhile purchase.
How To Leave Well of Heaven
Steps on How To Leave the Well of Heaven Sect
| 1 |  While you are in the game with an active character, access the menu and choose Sect. |
| 2 |  On the sect menu screen, navigate to the bottom right portion and click or press the Betray Master button. |
| 3 |  You will be asked to confirm your decision to leave the sect. Press the Confirm button to proceed. |
| 4 |  As penance for leaving the Well of Heaven Sect, you must undergo a Severance Trial and participate in a Perception Forest match. |
Members who leave the Well of Heaven sect must participate in a Severance Trial. During the trial, participants may join any sect of their choosing, but the trial will not conclude until one match of Perception Forest is completed.

All members receive a title when they join a sect. Additional titles become accessible when members reach a higher sect rank. Titles are exclusive to sects and are lost when a member leaves.

Well of Heaven members have access to their own sect shop. Items in the shop can be purchased using coins, reputation, or echo beads.
Exclusive Cosmetic Items
Members who have risen to the rank of Ironclad Buddy can purchase exclusive hairstyles and armor. You can keep your outfits even if you leave the sect, so if you're only interested in acquiring the cosmetics and have no plans to stay with that sect, you can leave freely.

Access to the Thundercry Blade
All members are immediately given access to the Thundercry Blade upon joining the sect. This massive melee weapon gives its user hard-hitting, heavy attacks and a unique buff that mitigates crowd control effects. It is suited for tanks and is best paired with the Stormbreaker Spear.

All Well of Heaven members can participate in weekly Sect elections. The winner gets to hold the title of Hall Master for one week, until the next election begins.
Hall Master Eligibility
Deputy Masters have the sole right to register for the next Sect elections. They will need to pay a 10,000 coin application fee to cover campaign preparation costs.
Only Deputy Masters can run in the next election, and current Hall Masters are prohibited from participating.
Sect Values
Gather 100 Widespread Bonds
Members of the Well of Heaven sect must participate in activities that generate Widespread Bonds and accumulate 100 Widespread Bonds weekly.
This is by far one of the easiest sector quotas to hit because it is simple and easy to complete. Players just have to participate in co-op play with others, and activities like co-op challenges or leisure activities will count towards completion.
