How to Unlock The Bare Truth
Raise Cat Affection with All 13 Cats in Jade Gate Pass
To unlock The Bare Truth Encounter, you need to raise the affection of all 13 cats scattered in Jade Gate Pass. The last cat, Cat-ismatic Immortal, becomes available as a Cat Play event after completing the Encounter Cat Fever in Squarewall Hold, the southernmost settlement on the map.
Keep Petting a Cat Until You See the “Cat Affection Level Up” Notification
To ensure that you've raised the affection of a cat, keep petting it until you see the “Cat Affection Level Up” notification accompanied by a jingle. The number of pets varies for each cat, but it usually takes about 1–5 pets for the notification to appear.
If the notification doesn't show for some reason, you can refer to the text “the kitten feels fabulous, meow~” as an indicator that the affection for that cat has been raised.

Pet all cats in Jade Gate Pass Complete Encounter - Cat Fever |
After raising the affection of all 13 cats in the region, go to Poplar Bazaar west of Jade Gate Pass. Following the golden Milky Way path in Poplar Bazaar, you should get the Encounter ping leading you off the path to Chu Xiong. Talk to Chu Xiong to start the quest.
Stand Near Cheng Er to Trigger the Quest
In case the quest doesn't immediately trigger despite being in its general proximity, you can try standing next to or approaching the NPC Cheng Er who is sitting on the ground. If Cheng Er isn't there, try positioning yourself in his place based on his map location shown above.

- Follow Ji Hui and Chu Xiong
1. Talk to Chu Xiong
Talk to Chu Xiong to find out why she's crying. She'll ask if you could find her husband Ji Hui, who is somewhere nearby.
2. Find Ji Hui Near the Tree
Follow the quest marker to a tree up the hill. There, you'll realize that Ji Hui is actually a bear in human guise. Startled, Ji Hui will run away after you confront him.
3. Chase After Ji Hui
Run after Ji Hui. Follow each quest marker to arrive at his last location, marked by the puffs of dust he leaves. The chase will end once you approach Chu Xiong's location, after which you'll immobilize Ji Hui with Meridian Touch in a cutscene.
4. Eavesdrop on Ji Hui and Chu Xiong
While Ji Hui is stunned, eavesdrop on his conversation with Chu Xiong from afar. Then, approach the pair to talk to them.
During the conversation, you'll have the chance to tell Chu Xiong that Ji Hui is a bear. Neither option really matters as Chu Xiong will wave you off before you can say anything.
5. Unlock Ji Hui's Acupoints
At Chu Xiong's request, unlock Ji Hui's acupoints by using the Meridian Touch Mystic Skill. Talk to them again after he is freed.
6. Follow Ji Hui and Chu Xiong
After Ji Hui and Chu Xiong decide to leave, follow them away from Poplar Bazaar until a cutscene plays, revealing that they were shapeshifting bears all along.
