Fishing is a mini game in Where Winds Meet that can be unlocked by interacting with an NPC. Check out the way to unlock the fishing mini game, the locations of various fishing spots, and how fishing works!

Steps in Fishing

Step	Instruction
1	Go to Nearby Body of Water First and foremost, you have to be nearby a body of water that is habitable for fishes in order to begin fishing.
2	Select Fishing Line and Bait Once you have found your location, pull out the equipped fishing line and set your chosen bait. The better the quality of both, the better the quality of catch!
3	Cast Your Line Throw the line as prompted by pressing Square on PS5 or E on PC. The longer you hold up to the maximum of the gauge, the farther the hook will be thrown.
4	Move Cursor into Green Zone Once a fish is caught, the struggle part of fishing begins. Move the cursor using the Analog Stick or Mouse to keep it within the green zone so that the catch rate increases. Make sure to keep an eye on where that gauge cursor goes depending on momentum; you want to move against it so that it stays longer in the green zone.
5	Reel in Catch Once the struggle mini-game is won, all you have to do is reel the fish in using Spacebar or Square to secure the catch!

Fishing Contests Locations

・Click on the arrow in the upper left corner to access our sidebar to check all other pins and even search for individual pins.
・Pins checked off the map will reflect in the list below.
・For map pin suggestions, please list down as much information as you can including reward data or complex acquisition methods.
・For images, uploading a full rectangular screenshot with a resolution of at least 728 x 410 pixels will be highly appreciated.
・Do not forget to mention which Map Layer you are suggesting a pin for.

We encourage users to sign up and log in to save your progress with the map.

Scattered across the map are fishermen that players can challenge themselves against. They are marked by special icons on the overview map when discovered for the first time.

Each challenge will have a different difficulty level, so make sure to have the best possible bait and fishing line at the ready to best them in the contest!

How to Unlock Fishing

Talk to Chu Shuiyang

WWM - Meet Chu Shuiyang
Chu Shuiyang can be found in the Vernant Wilds, southwest of the General's Shrine. For better visibility, try looking for a a floating fisherman icon hanging above the NPC.

If the player has not been to her location yet, there is a Boundary Stone nearby that you can unlock and have access to afterwards.

Challenge Her to a Fishing Contest

WWM - Challenge Chu Shuiyang to Fishing

Once you have your first Fishing Rod and Baits, go ahead and challenge Chu Shuiyang into a fishing contest. This serves as the tutorial for the basics in Fishing mini-game.
