Chapter 1 Walkthrough

| 1 |  Inspect the Loong Pattern on the broken-off door by the entrance of the house. Then, go inside and inspect the table and the Cleaned Spirit Tablet. |
| 2 |  Follow Ruby to a bridge. The bridge will collapse, so you have to leap over it. Follow the prompts on your screen to jump, dash, and fall to the other side. Continue ahead until you reach a cliffside overlooking the grasslands. |
| 3 |  Cross two short bridges to find and talk to the shooter Feng Jisheng. |
| 4 |  Shoot five birds flying above the cliff. Consume Endurance to trigger Still Waters, which will slow down the birds' movement speed, making it easier to aim your bow. After completing the trial, talk to Feng Jisheng. |
| 5 |  Head down the cliff by carefully dashing and falling to the ground. Talk to the Wayfarer, who will reveal a portion of Qinghe on your world map. Note: Talking to Wayfarers will unlock swathes of a region, so remember to do this to make exploration easier. |
| 6 |  The Wayfarer will tell you to drive off a nearby black bear. Approaching it, you will learn about Skill Theft, allowing you to learn Tai Chi from the bear. Time your button inputs with the golden rings to successfully learn the martial art, then use it to defeat the bear. |
| 7 |  Cross the river toward the fields to reach the General's Shrine. After a short cutscene with two horsemen, enter the shrine and participate in an impromptu tournament. Initiate the tournament by talking to Fang Xu sitting on scaffolding by the wall. |
| 8 |  Defeat Fang Xu. You have to deplete Fang Xu's Qi five times to win. Qi refers to the white bar above Fang Xu's head, below his HP. Deflect and evade Fang Xu's attacks to avoid exhausting your own Qi. |
| 9 |  Claim your prize from Old Jin and open the gift with Ruby. You will also receive a new appearance, First Step, for your character. To finish the quest, go find Ruby with Beard Guang to return home to Heaven's Pier. Otherwise, you can stay longer at the shrine before moving along. |

| 1 |  Leave the General's Shrine and go to Aunt Han's inn. Inspect the chest and the drawers in her room. A cutscene where you are ambushed will occur shortly after. Note: If you are below Lv. 17, the objective will be "Waiting for developments" until you reach the required level. |
| 2 |  Defend yourself from the assailants' arrows by blocking them with the wooden board. Then, defeat them with Yi Dao. |
| 3 |  Pursue the swordsman without being detected. You have 15 seconds to catch up to him if you stray too far. If the timer runs out or you are spotted, you have to redo the objective. Follow him into a passage, then approach the wall at the end to find a hidden entrance. |
| 4 |  Upon entering the hidden passage, a gate will drop and separate you from Yi Dao. Continue slightly further ahead and turn right. Use your Wind Sense to detect the safe areas to step on to avoid being burned by the fire traps. Inspect the door ahead before returning to Yi Dao. |
| 5 |  Return to the door past the fire traps. To the left of the door is a mechanism with a stone statue on a slab. Carry the statue all the way back to Yi Dao and set it down on the slab there. Stand on the opposite slab to lift the gate and let Yi Dao through. |
| 6 |  Follow Yi Dao past the door. In this area, you have to eliminate two Aureate Pavilion Guards to get rid of the toxic smoke, causing a build up of Sleeping Puppet's Enhancement Toxin. Eliminating one of the guards in the chamber immediately causes the build up to drop. |
| 7 |  Follow Yi Dao to the exit. Climb up the ladder and open the doors to find yourself back at the surface. |
| 8 |  After a cutscene, drop down from the cliffside and approach the ruined temple to free Ruby and Beard Guang inside. |
| 9 |  Go to the main hall ahead. Another cutscene will trigger, after which you have to beat the boss Dalang. |

| 1 |  Talk to Ruby and Beard Guang outside the house. With Beard Guang, lend him your jar of Parting Tears. |
| 2 |  Relay Beard Guang's news to Aunt Han in the house near the bamboo forests. After talking to Aunt Han, talk to Yi Dao. |
| 3 |  Find Aunt Han under a tree by the water, away from the inn. Talk to Ruby afterwards. |
| 4 |  Return to the Bamboo Abode and talk to Yi Dao on the roof. Following a cutscene, ride the horse with Ruby and depart from the Bamboo Abode. |
| 5 |  At the banquet, interact with Ruby and Doudou to bid them farewell. Then, partake in the banquet. To finish the rest of the quest and unlock the next objective, you must reach Lv. 21. |
| 6 |  Open the doors to Sweetwine Tower and descend down the ladder. At the bottom, you will encounter a chasm. Safely reach the objective marker by taking the stairs. At the objective marker, press the prompts on your screen to hop down near a waterfall. |
| 7 |  Get the secret haven key lodged between the rocks, near the chest. |
| 8 |  Enter the secret haven through the gap in the rocks and take the lift. In the secret haven, retrieve the Aged Parting Tears and Uncle Jiang's Bracers. Before leaving, open the chests in the room to get rewards. |
| 9 |  Fast travel out of the safe haven to return to Blissful Retreat. Enter the house and interact with the table to leave a letter before departing for the jianghu. |

| 1 |  Go to the ruined temple at Kilnfire Ridge and meet with Yi Dao by a campfire. After a cutscene, join Yi Dao back to Blissful Retreat. |
| 2 |  After being thrown of Yi Dao's horse, fight the enemies on the path before talking to Du Qiaoxian. Defeat the rest of the enemies, then accompany Yuan Jin'gang to higher ground up the path. There, inspect the vantage points. |
| 3 |  In the burning village, defeat the enemies to rescue all trapped people: Song Jiu, Beard Guang, and Dingsi. Rescue Ruby next after defeating the next wave of enemies. There is also an Aureate Commander, a strong enemy type, at the village. While evading its attacks, remember to deplete its Qi to rapidly take out chunks of its HP before it recovers. |
| 4 |  While escorting Ruby to Sweetwine Tower, rejoin with Yi Dao to break the siege. Afterwards, talk to the villagers at Sweetwine Tower. |
| 5 |  Face the last waves of incoming enemies with Yi Dao. Be careful with more Aureate Commanders that may overwhelm you with the guards. |
| 6 |  Defeat the boss Qianye. Qianye is a powerful boss with large sweeping attacks, so be sure to evade them while focusing on your offensive. Also note that Qianye has two phases. |
| 7 |  After defeating Qianye, you will find yourself in control of a horse. Follow the objective marker labeled as the Homeward Path to end the quest. |

Dalang is a boss fought during the A Horse Neighs in the Forest Quest. Focus on damaging Dalang and ignore the Owner since he will be useful throughout the fight to inflict Poison on the Boss itself. We recommend keeping Dalang between you and the Owner as much as possible to make it take the Poison Dart that the Owner occasionally shoots out.
Once you reach the 2nd phase, this will turn into a 1v1 where you will have to learn Dalang's timings to deflect its attacks. Do note that Dalang has a move where it jumps multiple times so we recommend learning the parry timing for this attack to easily whittle down it's Qi bar.
