How to Unlock Beauty and Blade
Approach the Red Gate near the Bamboo Grove in Blissful Retreat

Conquer the Bloomveil Monastery Outpost
|
After clearing the Outpost at the Bloomveil Monastery, go to Blissful Retreat look for a Red Gate near the Bamboo Grove. The quest will trigger as you approach the gate.
Beauty and Blade Walkthrough
| Step | Objectives |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Approach the Servants in Blissful Retreat and join the crowd to listen to their offer. They are looking for someone to escort Lady Zhao. Compete in the trials to earn the right to be her escort. |
| 2 |  Head to the location of the first trial in Moonveil Mountain, just outside Heaven's Pier. Speak with the Servant there and defeat the nearby Giant Black Bear. Speak with him again to get details on the second trial. |
| 3 |  Travel to Crimson Peak for the second trial. You will find the servant on the wooden bridge overlooking the lake. The challenge is to play the guqin; this will require you to play the rhythm mini-game to completion. Speak with the servant again after playing to complete the second trial. |
| 4 |  Go to Heaven's Pier for the final trial. Speak with the servant near the Bounty Board. He will task you with retrieving an item from the Zhao's page boy in the Winery. |
| 5 |  At the Winery, approach the Page Boy and answer "Though far, not far; though empty, not empty". He will ask you to meditate on the rooftops for a day. You will need to do this twice, once at the east and west. |
| 6 |  Go back to the Winery and eavesdrop on the conversation between the servant and the Page Boy. Confront them about the final trial, and they will bring you to meet Lady Zhao. Complete the cut scene that follows about the monks in Bloomveil Monastery. |
| 7 |  Speak with Lady Zhao to complete the quest. You will receive the Alms Pilgrim cosmetic as a reward. |

Anonymous 26 daysPreviously, I also experienced the same problem as you, with many hours of exhausting attempts. But when I tried again during Hai hours in the game and teleported near the clinic, the quest was suddenly triggered. It really relieved me.

For anyone still having issues after clearing the outpost. Please check your encounter quests and make sure you don’t already have 3-4 as that is the max encounters you can have active at a time. I spent a lot of time trying so many different things to get it to pop up and abandoning an encounter quest fixed it :D
