Madiao is a game of bluffing where players call out a number and others must determine if they are telling the truth. The goal of the game is to eliminate all players or be the first to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Here is how a Madiao match is played:

At the beginning of every Madiao match, one player becomes the holder of the One Coin at random. This player decides the number that everyone will have to declare for the first round. For example, if the One Coin holder declares the number '7,' everyone must also declare that the card they are putting on the table is a '7'.
It is up to each player whether they will actually play a '7' or bluff with other cards. The round will continue until someone is challenged or wins by getting rid of all their cards.

A good strategy in general is to bluff in the first round and use different cards, as nobody has a sense of what everyone's cards are initially. NPCs also tend to be honest on the first round, as they usually have the number that the One Coin player calls out, so they will play that card truthfully.

As the round progresses, it is up to you and the other players to identify a call that seems to be a bluff. You can usually identify this if an NPC calls an absurd number of pieces later in the round, such as calling 3 pieces of '7' on the third round.
This is likely a bluff, because there is only a limited number of 7s in the card pile. However, be careful if other players have Yellow Cards, as these act as any number in the game and can be used to confuse you.

After succeeding in a challenge or being challenged while telling the truth, you get to decide the number that will be used for the next round. You can choose to be honest about the cards you will place on the table or lie about them.
A good tactic is to stick with the number that was used in the previous round. Usually, other players will not have those in hand, as they already used the cards in the previous round. The exception is the player who lost and took the previous discard pile.

The fastest way to win is by eliminating every player through challenges. However, whether or not they will be out after a challenge is completely based on chance. The chance of them being out starts at 25% and will continue to increase by another 25% every time they lose a challenge.
Another way to win is to empty all the cards in your hand. The best tactic for this is to make sure that you are honest about your last cards or reserver your Yellow cards at the end, as other players will challenge you in hopes of preventing you from winning.
