This is a guide to the Compendium in Where Winds Meet. Read on to learn more about the Compendium, including how it works, its rewards, and the different types of records you can collect for it.

How Does the Compendium Work?
Collect Records to Gain Compendium Points
The Compendium in Where Winds Meet is a collection of records that lists the different quests, weapons, martial arts, materials, and lore items you've discovered throughout your playthrough.
Discovering and adding new entries to your compendium nets you Compendium Points. These points contribute to a meter (shown at the bottom of the compendium screen) that grants Echo Jade rewards after reaching specific milestones.
Has 2 Separate Reward Tracks to Complete
Records in the Compendium are categorized into two major groups: Knowledge and Collection and Insight. Collecting records for each group will progress their own separate reward track.
Get Rewards for Collecting Records
On top of the existing reward tracks, each specific entry in the Compendium will also reward you with Echo Jade when discovered. This quickly adds up as long as you keep interacting with everything you see in the world.
How to Get Compendium Records
Interact with Objects that Have the Paintbrush Icon
The easiest way to reveal a record in the Compendium is to keep an eye out for objects marked with the paintbrush icon. Once you find one, simply interact with it to get its Compendium record.
When you first start the game, there will be at least two of these near the rundown house you wake up at - one inside and the other on the road you follow along with Ruby.
Collect Materials and Items While Exploring
Some Compendium records will be obtained by amassing a collection of regular items and materials (like wood, plants, and ingredients). To make sure you get these recorded, collect everything that isn't tacked down as you explore the world.
Compendium Collection Rewards
Get Echo Jade for Finding Records and Hitting Milestones
Each entry in the Compendium will have its own Echo Jade reward when discovered (ranging from 2~5 Echo Jade per record).
Additionally, each reward track will reward you with an increasing number of Echo Jade as you hit higher milestones with your accumulated Compendium Points.
