To unlock the Wandering Tale The Melon Thief, go south of the Harborlink Crossing Boundary Stone and talk to Chen Nijiu in a field with bamboo poles.
The Melon Thief Walkthrough
1. Talk to Chen Nijiu
Go south of Harborlink Crossing to a field with bamboo fences. Talk to Chen Nijiu pacing around. You will learn that her basket of melons was stolen by a thief.
You Can Also Talk to Wu Liyou
Across the dirt path, you will see a man Wu Liyou also pacing around on the field. You can talk to him to hear that his basket of melons also went missing.
2. Find the Basket of Melons
The basket of melons is just near Chen Nijiu's location. Head in the direction of the dirt path to where two female NPCs are talking to each other. The basket of melons is beside them.
3. Give the Basket to Chen Nijiu or Wu Liyou
With the basket of melons found, you have the choice to give it to Chen Nijiu or Wu Liyou. Neither choice affects the outcome of the quest or the rewards you receive. Wu Liyou, however, turns out to be the thief who stole Chen Nijiu's basket.
Give the Basket to Chen Nijiu
If you give the basket to Chen Nijiu, she will thank you for finding it. Next, talk to Wu Liyou, who will accidentally reveal that he is the melon thief. This will end the quest.
Give the Basket to Wu Liyou
If you give the basket to Wu Liyou, he will explain his background to you and his reason for hauling the basket of melons. Talk to Chen Nijiu afterward, who will reveal that Wu Liyou is a liar who is the real melon thief.
