Velvet Shade Clue
Follow the Clues in Kaifeng
The Velvet Shade clue is available as soon as you reach or go above level 10, which is the minimum level requirement to unlock sects.
The clue does not appear until you reach Kaifeng and is tied between two side quests, namely Shadows in Bloom and Gathering of Heroes.

How to Join Velvet Shade
Steps on How to Join Velvet Shade

| 1 |  Team up with a player, then switch to Online Mode. Fast travel to Crimson Cliff in Qinghe and look for Shi Yimo to form a partnership with your team member. Forming a partnership is only possible if your Intimacy level is at least at Companions. ▶︎How to Increase Intimacy |
| 2 |  Enter your oath to one another and set your characters for a pictorial. After these steps, you and your teammate are officially in a partnership. |
| 3 |  Speak with Shi Yimo again and select Sever Partnership this time. Wait for the 24-hour cooling period to end. |
| 4 |  Once the 24-hour cooling period has ended, return to Shi Yimo again and enter the Sever Partnership option. You will now be given two choices for partnership severance: Unilateral and Negotiated. |
| 5 |  Enter your preferred severance method to end your partnership. A sect invitation from Velvet Shade will instantly appear in the menu. |
Grind for Elegance Points
Your character must be equipped with as many cosmetics as possible until an invitation to join the sect arrives. As per online forums, this method is currently unavailable in the global version of the game. We will update the page as soon as more details have been confirmed!
How to Leave Velvet Shade
Steps on How to Leave Velvet Shade Sect

| 1 |  On the sect menu screen, navigate to the bottom right portion and click or press the Betray Master button. |
| 2 |  You will be asked to confirm your decision to leave the sect. Press the Confirm button to proceed. |
| 3 |  A severance letter will arrive, laying out the consequences on your decision to leave. |
| 4 |  Members of the Velvet Shade members are required to undergo a Severance Trial to prove their determination to leave the Sect. To end the trial, you must participate in one round of Perception Forest. |
Members who leave the Well of Heaven sect must participate in a Severance Trial. During the trial, participants may join any sect of their choosing, but the trial will not conclude until one match of Perception Forest is completed.

The Ranks provided above are arranged in descending order, with the Flower Messenger being the highest rank.
All members in Velvet Shade are considered as Flowers in Bloom, who are all divided into five distinct rankings. Members will receive titles named accordingly to their current ranks. Like other sects, these titles are exclusive and are lost when a member leaves.

Velvet Shade members have access to their own sect shop. Items in the shop can be purchased using reputation and coins.
Exclusive Cosmetic Items
Members who have risen to the rank of Twin Lotuses can purchase exclusive hairstyles and armor. You can keep your outfits even if you leave the sect, so if you're only interested in acquiring the cosmetics and have no plans to stay with that sect, you can leave freely.
Access to the Vernal Umbrella
Upon joining the sect, all members are immediately given access to the Vernal Umbrella. The Vernal Umbrella's value lies in its capacity to hit charged skills at a wider range. This is best paired with the Inkwell Fan, another ranged weapon.

All Velvet Shade members can participate in weekly Sect elections. The winner gets to hold the title of Flower Messenger for one week, until the next election begins.
Flower Messenger Eligibility
Four-Fragrances has the sole right to register for the next Sect elections. They will need to pay a 10,000 coin application fee to cover campaign preparation costs.
Only Four-Fragrances can run in the next election, and current Flower Messengers are prohibited from participating.
Sect Values
Accumulate 100 Charm Points
Members of the Velvate Shade sect must participate in activities that generate Charm Points and accumulate 100 of them weekly.
The three main activities that generate Charm Points are forming partnerships with other players, gaining likes on your main page, and receiving gifts.
