Match the Patterns To Open Chests

Correct Pattern

In order to open the locked chests, you must rotate the switches to match the required patterns and form a coherent picture. The picture and degree of difficulty will vary depending on the chest you open.

All Chests Locations and Map

Listen for the Distinct Sound

While lock picking, the mechanism will produce sounds based on the inputted pattern. The correct pattern will produce a distinct sound that is clearly audible and easily distinguishable from the normal clicking sounds.

Paying close attention to the sound can help you figure out the correct pattern to successfully pick the lock.

How to Unlock Guarded Chests

Use Celestial Seize

You can obtain the loot inside certain Guarded Chests by using the Celestial Seize Mystical Skill.

Just note that not all guarded chests can be opened this way, and ensure that you are hidden from view when trying to open chests using this method.

Finish the Associated Quest

Nine Mortal Ways Guarded Chest

Other Guarded Chests cannot be opened until you finish the associated quest linked to that chest. Some chests will require you to join a sect to access the guarded chest, such as the Well of Heaven and the Nine Mortal Ways sect.
