How to Unlock Mysterious IOU
Find Three Unparalleled Items in Lost Crossing

To trigger this Encounter, you need to find three “Unparalleled” items scattered in the Lost Crossing area north of Jade Gate Pass. Each time you pick up an item, you will black out and wake up next to the Karez Boundary Stone.

| Unparalleled Wine |  The Unparalleled Wine is found under a tree root near Qi Xian's Oddity vendor pin on the map, or north of the Karez Boundary Stone. |
The Encounter Mysterious IOU finally triggers after picking up the third item, after which you black out for the last time and wake up with the quest NPC standing in front of you. Talk to the Apothecarium Physician to start the quest.
Mysterious IOU Walkthrough
- Talk to the Apothecarium Physician
- Give the IOU Note to Monk Youtong
- Gather Three IOU Notes to Learn About Xiaohu
- Give the IOU Notes to the Creditors in Lost Crossing
- Return to Monk Youtong
1. Talk to the Apothecarium Physician
Upon waking up, talk to the Apothecarium Physician in front of you. Agree to take the loan slip, also called the IOU Note, to advance the quest.
2. Give the IOU Note to Monk Youtong
Next, give the IOU Note to the monk Youtong just up ahead in the village, then talk to him to learn about the mysterious healer Xiaohu.
3. Gather Three IOU Notes to Learn About Xiaohu
To learn more about Xiaohu, you'll need to collect three IOU notes attributed to three different creditors scattered across Jade Cross Pass. All IOU Notes are marked on your map.
Find Sanniang's IOU Note I
The first and closest IOU Note can be found just behind the monk Youtong, by the flag.
Find Sanniang's IOU Note II
The second IOU Note is northwest of Lost Crossing in the Golden Sands River area. There, you'll see two bandits standing by an edge. Use Celestial Seize to grab the IOU from the standing bandit's inventory.
Find Sanniang's IOU Note III
The third and farthest IOU Note is near the Outside Whitecrest City Boundary Stone, southeast of Jade Gate Pass. The note is in front of a large black sword stuck in the sand. With all notes collected, you need to return them to their creditors back in Lost Crossing.
4. Give the IOU Notes to the Creditors in Lost Crossing

| Hu Nu'er |  Hu Nu'er is found inside a building west of the Karez Boundary Stone, hammering an anvil. |
| Tang Qi |  Tang Qi is the general goods merchant of Lost Crossing. You can easily find his merchant pin on the map. |
| Yi Shisan |  Yi Shisan is found near the Jade Gate Pass Wayfarer, sitting on the roof of a house. |
5. Return to Monk Youtong
After giving the notes to all the creditors, return to talk to the monk Youtong standing where the flag is. Afterwards, bury the IOU Note by the flag to end the quest.
