This is a guide on how to befriend Meng Da in the AI Chat menu in Where Winds Meet. Guide Meng Da and help him see reason on his obsession with Tian Ying, with a list of specific AI Chat prompts.

How to Befriend Meng Da
Tell Him the Heroics of Tian Ying
Meng Da will start with the message that some people are slandering his idol Tian Ying. Tell him to not be violent against those people and that Tian Ying himself would not resort to those. Instead, keep praising Tian Ying to him and tell him that bettering oneself is better.
Eventually, his AI will decide to befriend you after many messages.
Example of Successful Conversation
 (fists clenched, eyes blazing with anger) I went over to join some gossip, only to hear them slandering Hero Tian Ying! Even the birds fell silent- as if they, too, were offended. I admit it, I'm a Tian Ying stan through and through, and rumor-mongers won't change that! |
 Woah, calm down. I'm sure they have a reason for this, but if not im surely Hero Tian Ying wont like you to be violent to others. Thats not how a hero would do (smile) beside your more capable doing other heroic stuff than listen to other people's opinion. |

He has always taught that true strength comes from within, not from lashing out at every slight. (nods slowly) I should indeed focus on my own path and let my actions speak louder than words. Note that AI conversations can be unpredictable and even with the same inputs, the same result is not necessarily guaranteed.
How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
