Earth Fiend Deity Best Companion
The best companion to bring against the Earth Fiend Deity would be Yuan Jin'Gang due to his ability to deal Qi damage from a distance. His arrows can also interrupt the animation of Earth Fiend Deity's moves, such as Windslash and Aerial Tailspin.
We recommend having Yuan Jin'Gang as a companion to help deplete the Earth Fiend Deity's Qi Bar and open you up for Execute attacks to deal huge damage.

Use Clouds Steps to Cancel his Whirlwind
Earth Fiend Deity will execute, Whirlwind, a large AoE move that constantly pulls you towards him to perform a huge burst damage attack at the end that can easily one-shot you. We highly recommend using the Cloud Steps mystic art during this move as this can instantly cancel the attack and knock him down for a few seconds.
Use Vernal Umbrella
We recommend using ranged attacks against the Earth Fiend Deity. An example is using the Vernal Umbrella's Charge Skill to float and attack him from the air. Attacking from above using ranged distance allows you to safely avoid deadly moves like Burrowstrikes or Wolverine Dives.
Keep in mind that he can still damage you midair by jumping and slashing and will try to close the distance when you are too far.

Parry His Melee Attacks
We recommend utilizing the parry mechanic against the Earth Fiend Deity's melee attacks. The boss is reliant on melee attacks and gap-closing moves, as he lacks ranged abilities.
Target specific moves like the Aerial Tailspin and Burrowstrike for parrying. Successfully parry the Earth Fiend Deity's attacks, and his Qi Bar will deplete, leaving him vulnerable to an Execute Attack.
