Vernal Umbrella Guide and How to Unlock

How to Unlock Vernal Umbrella

Steal from The Master in the Time Tower

Step Objective
1 Time Tower.png
To start the quest, you'll need to head to the area near the Time Tower. You cannot enter the pavillion at this point in time so you'll first to do a different step.
2 Time Tower Disciple
You'll find the disciple Wang Ping'an in the smaller hut at the foot of the tower. Talk to him to progress the quest.
3 Jiang Ting Er
Head to the tower and climb up to find Jiang Ting'Er. However, she won't let you in without handing a keepsake from the Temporal Pavilion.
4 To find the keepsake, you'll need to solve some clues, Walk down the stairs and pass the warehouse to complete one of the hints immediately which is the last one for the warehouse..

Head behind the pavilion to find the tabby cat which solves one of the clues you need.
6 two chess players
From the Tabby Cat's location, head right and follow the railings leading to the river. You'll find a criss crossed window you can peek too that shows two chess players.
7 Eavesdrop on the gossiping ladies
Head to the back side room of the pavilion to find two ladies gossiping.
8 two gossiping ladies 2nd floor
Lastly, exit the pavilion then head to the house you met Wang Ping'an. Climb its roof then jump to the pavilion's second floor from there. You'll find another pair of gossiping ladies to eavesdrop on.
9 clue deduced
Connect the clues you have and the final output will result in the keepsake's locatoin which is on the second-floor treasury. You'll be teleported immediately after completing the hint.

10 Wildsense Warehouse Key
Use the Wildsense and take the Warehouse Key.
11 bramble jade pin
Open the warehouse and take the Bramble Rose Hairpin inside then give it to Jiang Ting'er.
12 Use Skill Theft on the master to obtain the Martial Art.
13 Return to Wang Ping'an to complete the quest.

These are the hints you'll need to combine to turn them to a different hint. Once all hints are combined and you reach the final hint, the questline will progress.

Vernal Umbrella Martial Arts

Vernal Umbrella Special Skills

Martial Art Description
Unfading Flower Can be used when at least 50 Blossom is available.
Toss the umbrella into the air and draw a hidden sword.
You can then switch to another weapon or use the hidden sword's basic skills.
While active, the umbrella follows you in midair and automatically fires projectiles at single targets within 5,.
If the target is airborne, the umbrella consumes additional Blossom to fire enhanced projectiles and extend the target's airborne duration.
Consumes 10 Blossom per second.
If Blossom is insufficient, the umbrella is automatically recalled.
While in hidden sword stance, using the special skill again manually recalls the umbrella

Special Skills can be unlocked by unlocking the seventh node on the talent tree. Once unlocked, you'll be able to use the martial art's heavy attacks.

Vernal Umbrella Martial Skills

Martial Art Description
Spring Sorrow Briefly charges, then fires a flying petal forward.
On hit, Immobilizes non-boss enemies for 3s.

The Martial Skill is the default skill you can use for your chosen martial art. There are no other prerequisites to unlocking the Martial Skills and can be used immediately after starting the game.

Vernal Umbrella Light Attacks

Spring Away
Charged Skill

After charging, open the umbrella to rise into the air and spin rapidly, making yourself airborne and firing projectiles to deal moderate damage.
Hitting targets with these projectiles can paridly accumulate Blossom.
Umbrella - Light Attack Swings your Umbrella to land up to three Light Attacks, dealing close to medium range damage.

Light attacks are part of the default moves you get to use at the start of the game.

Vernal Umbrella Heavy Attacks

Charged Skill

A one-stage charged skill that deals massive damage.
Open the umbrella to fly into the air, dealing area damage once to nearby enemies.
While charging in mid-air, there are two variants based on the charge duration: a normal downward area attack and an enhanced area attack.

Heavy Attack Varied

During the recovery of the first or second heavy attack, tap the light attack button to trigger a combo skill-open the umbrella and dash forward, dealing multiple hits of damage.
Umbrella - Heavy Attack Swings your Umbrella to land up to four Heavy Attacks, dealing close to medium range damage.

Charged skills and heavy attacks can be unlocked by unlocking the third node on the talent tree. Once unlocked, you'll be able to use the martial art's heavy attacks.

Martial Art Description
Umbrella - Conversion Switch weapon to umbrella and swing it, dealing damage.

Conversion or Dual-Weapon skills can be unlocked by unlocking the third node on the talent tree. Once unlocked, you'll be able to use the martial art's heavy attacks.

How to Play Vernal Umbrella

Use Charged Skills to Deal AoE Damage

The Vernal Umbrella's charged skills can hit a wide range. Use this to deal with mob groups, it can also be charged with one stage to amplify its effect.

Use Unfading Flower to Raise it to the Air

The Vernal Umbrella's special skill lets you throw it into the air and float. While floating, it will repeatedly shoot at enemies and its projectiles will also prevent launched enemies from falling down.

While in the air, you can swap to a different weapon and use it while the Vernal Umbrella stays in the air, this makes the Vernal Umbrella an excellent secondary weapon.

Spring Sorrow Can be Used to Immobilize Enemies

The Vernal Umbrella's martial skill can be used to launch a projectile that will an enemy. Use this to stop agressive mobs and focus on using your damage against other enemies first or make that target easier to combo.

Both weapons are also excellent ranged-dps martial arts and is perfect for players that wants to play from a safer distance.
