1. Join The Crowd Around the Horse Dealers
Join the crowd gathered in front of Harvestfall Village. The Horse Dealer from Tang will be boasting about the horse Night Flash. He will announce that the horse will be up for auction. Among the onlookers, speak with Qi Feijun. He will be arguing with Li Aili about the horse.
2. Plan to Steal the Horse With Feijun
After his argument with Aili, Li Feijun will speak to you about getting the horse back from the dealers. You will have two options. Either to pay for the horse or to steal it at night. The correct choice is to steal it at night.
If you choose to pay for it, he will mention that Finesteed Hamlet does not have the money to purchase the horse.
3. Meet Feijun at the Stables
You will agree to steal the horse with Feijun, forward the time to the next day at the Zi hour using the menu. At the right time, go to the stables in Harvestfall Village, which is Southwest of the village.
You will find Feijun hiding behind one of the structures. Eavesdrop on the conversation, and you will find out that someone has stolen the horse before you.
4. Follow Night Flash's Trail
Follow the trail of the horse by searching westward along the road. Continue following the waypoint until you reach the Riverside Station.
5. Defeat the Bandit
Speak with the Greenwood Bandit located on the ledge overlooking the station about the horse. He will talk about a masked hero, and then initiate a battle with you. Defeat the bandit, and he will tell you that the horse ran into the prison.
6. Enter the Riverside Station
Enter the station and search for Night Flash, it will be standing beside Constable Xiaoliu on the right side wall, surrounded by tables. He will mention that the horse has dug something up from the ground. Search for Brother Lin to get more info on the item.
7. Speak with Song and Lin
Enter the building and speak with Song and Lin. Follow them out, only to find that Night Flash has escaped again. Speak with Xiaoliu and listen to his story about the masked hero from three years ago.
8. Uncover the Truth of The Events 3 Years Ago
Go to the second floor of the building and investigate. First, interact with the Account Book on the table. Then go to the chest in front of the stairs and read the second Account Book. Go behind the divider and study the broken window. Finally, step out onto the roof and study the Rusty Dagger.
Once you have gathered all the clues, deduce the truth:
1. What was the true identity of the northern guests from three years ago?
| Three Years Ago, some nobles guests from northern Xiao Clan checked into the Courier Station. | ↔ | In one corner of the eaves lay a forgotten short dagger, rusted and marked by Khitan craftsmanship. |

3. Who attackied the guests, and what was their motive?
| The northern guests were, in fact, a group of Khitan nobles. | ↔ | Some swordsmen-chaotic and mysterious-soon followed the northern guests and checked into the Courier Station. |

9. Search for Night Flash in Jadebrook Mountain
Follow the sound of the neighing horse, when you step outside the station Qi Feijun will be there. Speak with him, and he will tell you that he was found in Jadebrook Mountain. Go there to meet up with Feijun.
10. Investigate the Wild Woods
Speak with Feijun; he will tell you that Night Flash is urging you to investigate the Wild Woods. Follow the waypoint to the first area and examine the Han Corpse, just above it will be a Khitan Corpse. On the rocks beside the corpses, study the Sacrificial Remnants. Use Wind Sense to follow its trail.
Be careful of the bear lurking around the Wild Woods when investigating.
11. Follow The Trail to Night Flash
The trail will lead you up the stairs of Halo Peak to a house. Speak with Little Mohe, and he will tell you of what happened three years ago. Follow Feijun and Nightflash west of your current location to the top of Halo Peak.
Dig the ground before Night Flash and find a Grey Pouch. Give it to Feijun, and he will leave with Night Flash. Speak with Qingxuan about the horse to end the quest.
