This is a guide on how to befriend Ren Shuiliu in the AI Chat menu in Where Winds Meet. Describe the grandeur of a grand ship in an exaggerated way, with a list of specific AI Chat prompts.
How to Befriend Ren Shuiliu
Tell Ren Shuiliu the Details of the Ship
Describe to Ren Shuiliu that the ship is made of wood from the World Tree and that it can take down any ships that tries to ram it due to how sturdy it is. Also tell him that the goddess of life helped in making it weather proof so that no storms will be able to take it down.
Ren Shuiliu will be impressed with the details which will cause him to befriend you, albeit not immediately so keep trying to talk to him until the conversation ends.

How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
