WWM - Burlap Sack Walkthrough and Rewards

1. Find the Euphrates Poplar to Start A Brief Respite Quest

1.1
Head to the Euphrates Poplar
To start A Brief Respite, look for Euphrates Poplar, the lone tree on top of a hill located west of Karez. A cutscene will play upon reaching the area.
1.2
Submit All Coins to Handlebar Hu
After the cutscene, Handlebar Hu will be right in front of you. Follow him for a bit and submit 1 coin once prompted. Keep submitting until all 5 Coins have been given to him.
1.3
Help the Caravan After Sitting on the Bench
Once again, follow Handlebar Hu heading to Dacao. When prompted, you can select any of the dialogue options. After the conversation with Dacao, sit on the bench.
1.4
Bring Goods Next to Hua Tuotuo
Handlebar Hu will scold Burlap Sack and will tell him to help around the caravan. To start, take the box of Goods next to Erdan, the man hammering a wagon. Bring the Goods beside the rest of the boxes in front of Hua Tuotuo.

Feed the Camel at the End of the Row
From the boxes of Goods, follow the row full of merchants until you find a 3 camels. Interact with a camel to feed it.
1.6
Collect Potatoes from Meng Dalang
Go to the house at the other end of the area, and you will find Meng Dalang tending to some crops. You can pick up some Dried Potatoes from the baskets.
1.7
Talk to Madam Qi and Wait for Caravan Departure
Speak with Madam Qi in the wooden platforms. Afterwards, head towards the crowd and the camels. Wait around to prepare for the caravan's departure.

2. Persuade the Merchants

2.1
Approach Deciduous Tree
Head north of Karez, going to the deciduous thick tree with camels. Watch the cutscene unfold as you approach this.
2.2
Approach the Merchants After Sitting on the Floor
Sit down on the floor to your right. Watch the cutscene play until Burlap Sack stands up. Approach the band of merchants to watch another cutscene.
2.3
Speak with the Merchants
Speak to the merchants in any order: Xiaolian, Handlebar Hu, Er Dan, Hua Tuotuo, and Meng Dalang.
2.4
Speak with Dacao
After speaking with the merchants, speak with Dacao to watch another cutscene.

3. Follow the Caravan to Start Vultures and Vipers Quest

3.1
Accept the Quest Before Going to Golden Sands River
Open the Swimming Fish Painting Scroll to accept the Vultures and Vipers quest. Afterwards, run down to the shipwreck debris in the Golden Sands River to start a cutscene.
3.2
Follow the Caravan
Listen in to the caravan's conversation while following them. A bandit will block your way eventually. A long cutscene will play.
3.3
Find Your Belongings
Look for your belongings. You can find them in the wagon behind you. Dacao will approach you later on to part ways with you.
3.4
Look for Copper Coins and Follow the Caravan
Go to the nearby stump and look for some copper coins. Afterwards, follow the caravan's trail. Xiaolian will stop you and offer some water.

4. Survive the Vicious Birds' Attack

4.1
Go to the Tree with Hanging Pots
Go to the deciduous tree with hanging potteries to the northwest. Watch the cutscene play.
4.2
Chase the Fox
A fox will steal your water bag. Chase after it until you reach another cutscene.
4.3
Approach the Well
From where the cutscene will leave you off, keep heading forward until you find an area full of debris. Look for a well and draw some water from it.
4.4
Head Onwards and Chase the Fox Until Nighttime
From the water well, follow the quest marker. Keep pushing onwards until you find the fox from earlier. Keep chasing after it until nighttime emerges.
4.5
Go to Elevated Area After Drawing Water from Well
Go back to the well from earlier and interact with it. Afterwards, follow the quest marker and go past this to go to a more elevated area. Watch another cutscene play.
4.6
Pick Up Belongings and Avoid Monsters Afterwards
Pick up the burlap sack and the water bag. Watch another cutscene all the way until the appearance of a vicious bird. Run towards Beacon Fort while dodging the monsters' attacks to survive!
4.7
Light Up Torch 1
Climb up to the second floor through the ladder on the left. Light up Torch #1 to scare off some birds. Continue dodging the birds' attacks while lighting a Torch up, especially if you are running low on HP.
4.8
Light Up Torch 2 and 3
Go up to the rooftop and light up Torch #2 and Torch #3. There are still be some monsters lingering about, so keep an eye out to avoid their attacks. Torch #2 is immediately visible upon reaching the rooftop. On the other hand, Torch #3 is located at the opposite side of the floor.

5. Find the Sack to Begin Clawing to Light Quest

5.1
Accept the Quest from the Painting Scroll
Open the Swimming Fish Painting Scroll and accept the Clawing to Light quest. Take the rewards from the Dali Copper Coin marker as well. Follow the quest marker in the direction of the trees with flowy leaves.
5.2
Follow the Fox to Look for the Sack
Look for your sack around the area. The fox will lead you to some areas that you can search for. Go to where the fox will take you. A cutscene will play once you have searched the area next to the barrels.
5.3
Speak with Any of the Wanderers
After the monologue, you will find yourself in a cave. Speak to any of the wanderers in any order: the grandparent and her grandchild, the busy villagers, the nearby children, and the man by the fireplace.
5.4
Speak with Bao for Water
Go back to the spot you came from and speak with Bao for water. Afterwards, follow him to find some food.
5.5
Get Some Oat and Pour it On Straw Basket
Pick up some oats and pour them into the straw basket. Check on Bao after hearing him yell.
5.6
Leave the Cave After Finding Sack
Follow Bao and go behind the rock. Interact with the sack to watch another cutscene. Go forward and leave the cave, where the fox awaits you.

6. Go Around the Black Water Station

6.1
Approach the Fox in Ayisu Area
Cross the desert and reach the Ayisu area by following the quest marker. Approach the fox sitting near some grassfields to continue Burlap Sack's story.
6.2
Follow Fox to Black Water Station
Follow the little fox to find the Black Water Station. Approach the area to play a cutscene.
6.3
Go Around the Tower
Sneak around the area and go behind the tower. Jump on the roofs to get to the other side. Be careful not to get caught by patrols.
6.4
Climb Ladder After Talking to Handlebar Hu
Climb up the ladder and keep going onwards until you find Handlebar Hu. After the dialogue exchange, climb up the ladder leading to the top of the tower.
6.5
Examine the People on the Ground
With a wider vision of the station, examine the people around the station. You will realize that the merchants from the caravan are being held hostage.
6.6
Examine the Bird on Top of Hut
Examine the bird resting on top of a hut. This will fly over to the Oghuz's direction. Afterwards, climb down the tower to sneak out of the station.
6.7
Hide Behind Barrels and Wall
After the cutscene, sneak around to observe what's happening in the area. Take cover behind the barrels to find the sack that Handlebar Hu stole from you. After another cutscene, sneak behind a nearby wall to get near your sack.
6.8
Go to the Camel
Xiaolian will be carrying your sack. Sneak away from the battle nearby and approach the camel.
6.9
Defeat the Black Water Patrols
After Xiaolian trips, Black Water patrols will catch up to him. You will be looped into a battle while wielding the Teng Blade. Deflect enemy attacks and strike back!
6.10
Watch the Ending Cutscenes
A long cutscene will play afterwards. This will conclude the Burlap Sack quest.

To unlock Burlap Sack, complete the Gloom Light Anecdote main quest. Investigate the fish tank sitting on top of the stranded huge ship to obtain a Mysterious Scroll, which will help you keep track of your progress in the Burlap Sack main quest.

Why doesn't burlap move in mine. It just says deflect. Nothing more but he doesn't move. Just staring to the enemy.
