The two main martial art for the build is the Thundercry Blade and the Soulshade Umbrella with the Thundercry Blade being your main weapon for most of the time. The Soulshade Umbrella is mainly used as a passive healing and buff weapon while you primarily play the Thundercry Blade.
Use buffs then raise the Umbrella into the air then focus on going up front against enemies with charged hits and big damage output.

| Inner Art | Details |
|---|---|
Morale Chant |
80% chance to gain one stack of Yi River when attacking or healing. Yi River: Increases Physical Damage and healing by 1% for 8 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. The chance to gain Yi River is only calculated once every 2 seconds. |
Exquisite Scenery |
Successfully defending with Thundercry Blade activates its special counterattack. Press Perception Skill or Heavy Attack to unleash a first stage Charged Heavy Attack without charging. This effect can only trigger once every 10 seconds. Hitting a target with a Varied Combo restores 1 bar of Battle Will (no more than 1 bar restored per cast). |
Battle Anthem |
Increases Charged Skills' damage against all bosses by 10%. |
Art of Resistance |
Increases the duration of your own HP shield and the bonus effects of its source skill by 4 seconds. |
Morale Chant gives steady passive damage and healing through Yi River stacks, while Exquisite Scenery rewards good blocks with an instant charged heavy and Battle Will recovery. Art of Resistance increases the duration of your shields, while Battle Anthem boosts the damage of your Charged Skills and gains additional bonuses at higher tiers that further improve your charged damage and utility.
You can also consider Adaptive Steel, as it pairs well with a crit-focused build. Its Mo Blade passive increases the Critical Damage of your Charged Skills and Parry Counter Skills, giving your burst windows even more impact.
| Inner Way | Details |
|---|---|
Vital Leech |
Casting an Exhaustion Execution Skill restores HP equal to 8% of the damage dealt. |
For PvP, trade Battle Anthem for Vital Leech as it turns your execution pressure into self-sustain. Alternatively, can also use Trapped Beast as tt acts as an emergency safeguard, generating a shield at low HP to help you survive dangerous moments.

|---|---|
Dragon's Breath |
Drink to enter Intoxicated. Breath fire with Qi, dealing damage over 2 hits plus Ignition. Gain 15% Damage Reduction and Fortitude. Intoxicated: Lasts 30s. Dragon's Breath and Drunken Poet can be used without drinking. Ignition: Target takes damage every 0.5s for 8s. |
Drunken Poet |
Drink deeply to enter the Intoxicated state, imitating the drunken grace of the Poet Immortal. Cast repeatedly for up to 5 strikes, each consuming 6 Vitality. Intoxicated: Lasts 30s. Dragon's Breath and Drunken Poet can be used without drinking. |
Cloud Steps |
Stomp on an enemy's shoulder to deal Physical Damage, other Attribute Damage effective against Cavalry and other units with Unstable Poise. |
Meridian Touch |
Chance to immobilize, deal Physical damage, and break Vital Points. Immobilize is ineffective against mighty enemies. Vital Points: These enemies have bound Qi bars. Breaking their Vital Points disables Qi regen, deals extra Physical damage and Qi Damage. |
Triggering Burn with Dragon’s Breath and then activating Drunken Poet lets you detonate that damage-over-time into a sharp burst window, making the combo far deadlier than either skill alone. Meanwhile, Cloud Steps serves as a reliable mobility tool for sticking to targets, and it shines even more in encounters against mounted bosses like Sleeping Daoist and Ye Wanshan. Meridian Touch is useful because it lets you briefly immobilize enemies, dealing bonus damage and disabling Qi regeneration.
| Stat Group | Recommended Substats |
|---|---|
Wolflike Frenzy |
Knock down an enemy, followed with rapid strikes, and finish with an upward swing that disables the target. Effective against Cavalry and other units with Unstable Poise. Unstable Poise: These units have a Stance bar near their HP. Stance-break deals special hit and Physical damage. |
Serene Breeze |
Channel Qi into your body to clear blockages in the veins. Can be used while under attack or control effects. On hit, reduces the target's Endurance recovery by 50% and deals damage for 8s. |
Leaping Toad |
Flip back to knock back and damage enemies, then lunge to apply Toad Venom. The third cast becomes Golden Toad Crash, a knockdown AoE slam. Toad Venom: Explodes after 5 seconds or on death. Can be Detonated by Lion's Roar. |
Soaring Spin |
Channel your Qi into a roaring thrust, dealing damage to units along the path. Then suddenly shift stance into a spiraling follow-up strike that catches enemies off-guard. Hitting a target reduces their Healing Received by 60% over 5s. |
Aside from the Mystic Skills mentioned in the PvE section, Serene Breeze is essential for PvP, allowing you to break out of enemy combos and crowd control so you can reset, reposition, and survive. Leaping Toad helps with quick repositioning, Soaring Spin is great for closing gaps, and Wolflike Frenzy provides strong burst damage along with Super Armor to prevent interruptions.

RainwhisperWeapon |
2 Set Effect: +40 Max HP
4 Set Effect: Increases all Critical DMG and healing by 10%, and further increases them by 15% when you have an HP shield. |
MoonflareArmor |
2 Set Effect: +40 Max HP
4 Set Effect: When attacking while defending, there is a 30% chance to create a shield that absorbs up to 10% of Max HP, lasting 20 seconds. If a shield already exists, restores 2% HP in addition. This effect can only trigger once every 60 seconds. |
For our gear set, we’re using Rainwhisper because it enhances both our offensive pressure and sustain, increasing our critical damage and healing overall, and boosting them even further whenever we’re protected by a shield. It works perfectly with both your weapons.
Pair it with Moonflare to gain extra survivability through increased maximum health and periodic shielding while fighting defensively, giving you more room to stay aggressive without getting overwhelmed.

CalmwatersArmor |
2 Set Effect: +13 Physical Defense
4 Set Effect: A Perfect Dodge of an enemy attack has a 50% chance of restoring 3% of your Max HP and 10 Endurance. |
For PvP, consider switching to Calmwaters if you're confident in your dodge timing. It rewards Perfect Dodges with steady health and endurance recovery, giving you more staying power in extended fights and helping you maintain pressure without draining your resources.
| 1st | Max/Min Stonesplit |
| 2nd | Max HP |
| 3rd | Body |
| 4th | Max/Min Physical Attack |
| 5th | Critical Rate |
Max/Min Stonesplit, Max HP, and Body should be your top priorities. This build gains bonus Critical Rate on Thundercry Blade’s Charged Skills based on your Max HP, meaning stacking HP doesn’t just make you tankier, it directly increases your damage output as well. Max/Min Physical Attack further strengthens all your scaling damage sources, while Critical Rate helps your big charged hits land even harder, improving your overall burst potential.

Always keep Echoes of a Thousand Plants active because it continuously heals you, effectively giving you passive sustain throughout prolonged encounters instead of relying only on burst heals.
Exquisite Scenery is an Inner Way that lets you perform a special counterattack after successfully defending (blocking) with a Thundercry Blade, enabling an instant charged heavy attack and restoring a bit of Battle Will, which adds defensive counterplay and damage potential when timed right in combat.
How to Get Exquisite Scenery Inner Way
This build revolves around timing your blocks to activate Exquisite Scenery, turning successful defenses into instant charged heavies and momentum swings that let you shift from defense to heavy punishment in a single opening.
