The best companion to bring against Ye Wanshan would be Elder Gongsun due to his ability to chase the enemy across the battlefield.
We recommend Elder Gongsun, as he can deal significant Qi damage that sets you up for a powerful Execute attack. Elder Gongsun achieves this with his high mobility moves that enable him to close the gap between Ye Wanshan throughout the fight.

In order to unlock Ye Wanshan, you will need to complete the Bodhi Sea campaign quest to progress further.
Once you have finished the quest, you can find Ye Wanshan's Campaign version at the Sundara Land area in the Qinghe region.

Ye Wanshan's attacks can be easily telegraphed since he only attacks with his weapons. His red attacks always have a delay so make sure to time your deflects correctly to initate a counterattack and whittle down his Qi bar.
Once he reaches his 2nd phase, he will light his weapons with fire to throw his glaive towards you and initiate a yellow attack slam on the landing point of the glaive. We highly recommend to keep your distance and focus on dodging his yellow attacks as they are unblockable and can deal huge damage to you.
Ye Wanshan has a charging attack that you can use Cloud Steps on to cancel it for easy damage. Take note that you have to be in mid-range in order to successfully pull this off since being too far will still get you damaged by his flaming sword.
Ye Wanshan tends to roam across the battlefield with his horse, making him difficult to chase due to the his incredible movement speed. We recommend staying in place and focus on parrying his sweep attacks to easily bring down his Qi bar to exhaust him and initiate an execute attack.
Additionally, you can also use Ranged attacks whenever he is too far to consistently deal damage to him without worrying too much about your positioning. You can use ranged weapons such as the Panacea Fan, Inkwell Fan, Vernal Umbrella, or Soulshade Umbrella to easily kite him as he charges past you.

Cloud Steps Mystic Skill Effect and How to Unlock
Most of the Ye Wanshan's attacks will be focused on dealing with what is in front of him. We recommend positioning yourself behind the boss or behind your teammates to let you stay away from the area of effect of his powerful strikes.
If you are a DPS character, we recommend ranged weapons such as Vernal Umbrella to kite his attacks.
Vernal Umbrella Guide and How to Unlock
Inferno Sweep imprisons you in a flaming circle with a stampede of horses that can deal powerful area-of-effect damages. We recommend initially staying in the center and move to the safe spots at the side once the horses start charging to easily avoid their attacks.
