The earliest way to get an umbrella is from Qi Sheng, the first Oddity merchant you'll encounter during the first chapter of the story. Additionally, you can get an extra umbrella, alongside other gear types, from the peddler, Xiong Da, at Heaven's Pier for 500 coins apiece.

Alternatively, you have a chance to get a copy of Umbrella from completing Boss Battles, such as Heartseeker, Qianye, and The Void King. These bosses are usually locked behind Campaign quests, which means you have to complete their corresponding quests first to unlock them!

Outpost Challenges are overworld locations that rewards players a random gear after defeating the required number of enemies per location. Alternatively, players can use their current profession to complete these challenges and get the same amount of reward.

Players can also get Umbrellas, alongside other gear types, from the Season Shop by purchasing Gear Chests for 100 Jade Fish. The set that each gear chest yields can be selected before buying them, however, the tier of the weapon it contains is randomized!

Another way for a chance to get Umbrellas are by completing Umbrella Trial Games, a multiplayer game mode where you have to defeat a set number of enemies to complete the challenge. Each enemy wave yields one chest that contains a random gear, and an entire challenge consists of at least 5 waves!

Players can also get random chest gears from completing Taiping Mausoleum stages. Each stage rewards players one random gear, whose tier depends on the difficulty of the stage!

| Stat Group | Set Effects |
|---|---|
RainwhisperWeapon |
2 Set Effect: +40 Max HP
4 Set Effect: Increases all Critical DMG and healing by 10%, and further increases them by 15% when you have an HP shield. |
EagleriseArmor |
2 Set Effect: +1 Physical Defense
4 Set Effect: Dealing damage over time or healing grants 1 stack of Eaglerise: Reduces damage taken by 1.2% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. At max stacks, receives an Eagle Guard effect that reduces the next incoming damage within 10 seconds by 90% (halved when the damage comes from a boss). This effect can only trigger once every 30 seconds. |
Rainwhisper and Eaglerise are the best sets to pair with Soulshade Umbrella and Panacea Fan for a highly-sustainable playstyle that can help you or your teammates in most combat scenarios. Rainwhisper allows for your heals to crit, while Eaglerise provides a self-targeted damage reduction that stacks 5 times.

| Stat Group | Recommended Substats |
|---|---|
Veil of the WillowWeapon |
2 Set Effect: +0.1% Precision Rate
4 Set Effect: After a Light Attack/Airborne Light Attack, Heavy Attack/Airborne Heavy Attack damage is increased 12%, lasting 10 seconds. The reverse is also true. Particularly, after a Heavy Attack/Airborne Heavy Attack Light Attack Charged Attack damage is increased 12%. |
Beyond the ChillArmor |

4 Set Effect: After entering combat, if no damage is taken for 10 seconds, gain Beyond the Chill: Reduces the next damage taken all damage taken within 2 seconds afterward by 40%. Beyond the Chill is removed upon leaving combat. |
As for using Vernal Umbrella with Inkwell Fan, Veil of the Willow set and Beyond the Chill armor set can help you dish out damage from a distance, while maintaining a decent defensive strat for yourself to ensure your own survivability!
Vernal Umbrella and Inkwell Fan Build
| Recommended Substats for Umbrella | |
|---|---|
| Max HP ★★★★★ |
Max HP is the most important substat for Umbrella builds, since this substat alone can help you soak in more damage when you're hit, and when paired with high defense, makes you a nearly unkillable support unit that can bring your team to the next level. |
| Defense ★★★★★ |
Another useful substat for Umbrella builds is Defense, which lets you mitigate more damage, thereby prolonging your and your team's survivability. |
| Attack | Silkbind ATK DMG ★★★★ |
If you want to supplement your damage output, and have maximized funneling priority to your Defense and Max HP, then we recommend going for Attack or Silkbind attack damage for your next substat. These two provide decent improvements to your damage output, which is helpful for most combat scenarios! |
