You can get the Fan as early the first chapter of the story from Qi Sheng, and by purchasing it from the Peddler at Heaven's Pier in Where Winds Meet. See the list of Fans, how to unlock them, builds, martial types, set bonuses, and best substats!
How to Get Fans
Obtain from Qi Sheng's Oddity

The earliest way to get a fan weapon is from Qi Sheng, the first Oddity merchant you'll encounter during the first chapter of the story. Additionally, you can get an extra umbrella, alongside other gear types, from the peddler, Xiong Da, at Heaven's Pier for 500 coins apiece.

Obtain From Boss Battles
Alternatively, you have a chance to get a copy of Fan from completing Boss Battles, such as Heartseeker, Qianye, and The Void King. These bosses are usually locked behind Campaign quests, which means you have to complete their corresponding quests first to unlock them!
Complete Outpost Challenges
Outpost Challenges are overworld locations that rewards players a random gear after defeating the required number of enemies per location. Alternatively, players can use their current profession to complete these challenges and get the same amount of reward.
Buy From Season Shop
Players can also get Fans, alongside other gear types, from the Season Shop by purchasing Gear Chests for 100 Jade Fish. The set that each gear chest yields can be selected before buying them, however, the tier of the weapon it contains is randomized!
Finish Fan Trial Games
Another way for a chance to get Fans are by completing Fan Trial Games, a multiplayer game mode where you have to defeat a set number of enemies to complete the challenge. Each enemy wave yields one chest that contains a random gear, and an entire challenge consists of at least 5 waves!
Complete Taiping Mausoleum Challenges
Players can also get random chest gears from completing Taiping Mausoleum stages. Each stage rewards players one random gear, whose tier depends on the difficulty of the stage!

The best set for Panacea Fan and Soulshade Umbrella is the Rainwhisper set for gears, and Eaglerise for armor. These two sets take the sustainability of Panacea and Soulshade to the next level making your healing crit, as well as provide 100% uptime damage reduction buffs!

On the other hand, Veil of the Willow and Beyond the Chill are the best sets to use when equipping Inkwell Fan and Vernal Umbrella for a hybrid subdps role that fits well the ranged-playstyle of this build!

If you want to supplement your damage output, and have maximized funneling priority to your Defense and Max HP, then we recommend going for Attack or Silkbind attack damage for your next substat. These two provide decent improvements to your damage output, which is helpful for most combat scenarios! |
