How to Befriend Ya Zhou
Keep Listening to Ya Zhou's Stories
Tell Ya Zhou that you will listen to his stories and just keep letting him talk. Urge him to share more of his stories, and if he asks the reason you came to Qinghe, tell him that you came to listen to old man's stories.
There is a chance that he will keep talking without his AI being triggered, so don't give up and just keep listening to his stories until his AI finally befriends you.

 (sighing deeply, voice tinged with grief) Back then, after the general was defeated, the boatman who ferried supplies with me was captured and killed. I carried his belongings and knocked on his door ... |
 Hey! Can you tell me more about your past? I am very intrigued. |
| (lost in memories, voice low and heavy) The boy came to open the door .. so young, yet he understood what had happened. When he saw his father's clothes, he broke into tears. |
| (Both of you sat down and you listened to his stories.) |
| (sadness welling in his eyes) His body trembled, tears streaming down his face. In that moment, through those eyes, I saw another sorrowful child. |

| (voice trembling, gaze distant) When I was his age, I too received my father's clothes from a stranger ... and I knew then, I would never wait for him to return home again. |

| (lifting his head slightly, voice heavy with longing) This endless cycle of fate in troubled times ... when will it break? May every child who opens a door in hope see their father return safely. Ya Zhou falls silent and lets out a long sigh.(Affection +100, becomes Revered) |
Note that AI conversations can be unpredictable and even with the same inputs, the same result is not necessarily guaranteed.
How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
