This is a walkthrough for Unsuccessful Bandit, a Wandering Tales side quest in Where Winds Meet. See this detailed guide to check out quest objectives and what happens if you give the bundle to Cheng Er or Cheng Da.

How to Unlock Unsuccessful Bandit
Heal Cheng Er in Poplar Bazaar

To start the Wandering Tale Unsuccessful Bandit, go to Poplar Bazaar west of Jade Gate Pass. Just before approaching the Boundary Stone, you'll see Cheng Er injured on the sand. Heal him to start the quest.
Unsuccessful Bandit Walkthrough
1. Heal and Talk to Cheng Er
Heal Cheng Er from his injury. You need at least 4000 Mastery Points in the Healer Profession to successfully treat him. Afterwards, talk to him about a bag he had lost due to a dispute with his brother Cheng Da.
2. Retrieve Cheng Er's Bundle
Cheng Er's bundle is near a poplar tree east of his location. Take it from the ground. You'll receive a new clue hinting that you can return the bundle to Cheng Er or his brother Cheng Da.
Giving the bundle to either one has no consequences to the quest and you'll receive the same rewards for completing it.
3. Give the Bundle to Cheng Er or Cheng Da
Giving the Bundle to Cheng Er
If you give the bundle to Cheng Er, he will thank you and promise to submit it to the authorities while calling out his brother for tomb raiding. This ends the quest with a notification that you completed it.
Giving the Bundle to Cheng Da
Cheng Da is found further east in a small fortress past the tree where you found the bundle. After healing him from his injuries, you can give him the bundle and he will reveal that Cheng Er is also a tomb raider just like him.
This also completes the quest, but you won't receive a notification that you finished it. Regardless of what choice you pick, you'll still receive your rewards by accessing your Journal.
