Coffin Master Best Companion
The best companion to summon for Coffin Master is Yi Dao. Because Coffin Master is a rather slow boss, you can simply punish it with attacks alongside Yi Dao. His ability to tank hits allows him to deliver a constant offensive barrage that quickly whittles down Coffin Master's Qi as well as HP.
Coffin Master Location
On the Shore North of Mercyheart Monastery
Coffin Master is fought in the circular area along the shore north of Mercyheart Monastery. Taking the path nearing the shore triggers the boss fight immediately.

Focus on the Large Arm for Better Parry Timing
Coffin Master primarily fights with the large arm wielding the sword. Pay attention to parrying the arm as it performs the bulk of Coffin Master's moveset with its slashes and sweeps.
Dodge the Charged Attack to Evade Combo
Coffin Master performs a charged attack where it launches a 7-hit combo. While it charges up, you can still attack it to deal damage in this short window of time. After it picks up its sword, dodge out of the way to avoid it as the attack does not track you when you are behind it.
Parry the Combo to Exhaust Qi
Alternatively, if Coffin Master's Qi is quite low, you can choose to parry each slash until its Qi is exhausted. Once downed, you can start whaling on Coffin Master with attacks before performing the Execution.
Stay in Front of Coffin Master
Coffin Master moves slowly in its arena, allowing you to fight it head-on without worrying about it constantly pursuing you. It is recommended to stay in front of Coffin Master to consistently parry its moves and keep the momentum of the battle going.
Time Parries to Deflect Delayed Attacks
Coffin Master employs a mixture of fast and delayed moves, sometimes incorporated into combo chains. When fighting it, it is recommended to get used to the timing of its moves to parry them more accurately.
Beat the Boss in its Second Phase After It Revives
After depleting Coffin Master's HP bar, you will get the “Triumphant” pop-up that normally shows after you beat a boss. Coffin Master will revive, however, and you must beat it in its second phase to win the fight.

| Sword Swipe Lunge | Coffin Master drags its sword across the ground and lunges toward you with a swipe. Parry it before it makes contact. |
| Stomp to Overhead Slash | Coffin Master performs a stomp and leaps into the air with an overhead slash. Both moves can be parried, but note that the move after the stomp can be a punch instead. |
| Stomp to Punch | Coffin Master performs a stomp and closes the distance to punch you. Both moves can be parried. |
| Double Slash to Overhead Slam | Coffin Master performs a double slash by spinning around, then jumps up to land an overhead slam. These can be parried. |
| Delayed Double Slash | Coffin Master slashes you once then switches its grip on the sword to make a second slash. The tip here is to parry immediately after the arm switches its grip. |
| Swipe to Double Slash | Coffin Master swipes at you then performs a slash immediately after, followed by a second slash. It is possible to stay out of the way of the punch, but if you are too close to Coffin Master, you need to parry twice in quick succession to deflect the punch and the first slash. |
| Slow Slash | Coffin Master performs a slow slash and steps back a bit. This can be parried. |
| Fast Slash | Coffin Master performs a fast slash with a quick wind-up. This can be parried. |
| Low Slash | Coffin Master spins and performs a low sweeping slash. This can be evaded by keeping your distance, but it can also be parried. |
| Sidestep Slash | Coffin Master spins aside in a sidestep motion to deliver a slash. Parry it after the spin. |
| Sword Slam | Coffin Master raises its sword and performs a quick slam onto the ground. You can evade this by staying away from it but it can also be parried if you happen to be up close. |
| 7-hit Slash Combo | After pausing to charge up its attack, Coffin Master lunges at you and performs a 7-hit combo. You can parry all seven slashes; note the delay after the 2nd and 6th slashes. It is also possible to dodge it before it zooms past you. |
| Upward Sword Slash | This is Coffin Master's blockable move. After its sword skids on the ground, press the parry button to block it. |
| Swipe | Coffin Master swipes at you when you are up close. It can be parried. |
| Kick | Coffin Master performs a kick that can be parried. |
