Play the Flute for Monk Unknowing in Peaceward Camp

To start the Exploration quest Flute of the Tides, travel to Peaceward Camp slightly northeast of Jade Gate Pass. Just ahead of the Peaceward Camp Boundary Stone is Monk Unknowing, who is playing the flute on a raised wooden platform.
The quest will not trigger until you play the flute to his music score. After completing it, you will finally get the quest ping.

1. Play the Flute for Monk Unknowing
In Peaceward Camp, talk to Monk Unknowing and play his piece Kalavinka on the flute. After you finish the score, he will express interest in imparting the Flute of the Tides skill to you.
Time Notes to the Beat in the Rhythm Mini-game
On your keyboard or controller, time the notes falling on the scanline to the beat of the song. It's not necessary to get a perfect score to trigger the quest.
2. Ask Monk Unknowing About Flute of the Tides
Talk to Monk Unknowing to inquire about learning the skill. Before imparting it to you, he'll request you to soothe the souls of the fallen Anxi soldiers in Whitecrown Fortress and Heroic Tomb (also called Heroes' Graves).
3. Play the Flute in Whitecrown Fortress
Head southeast of Peaceward Camp to the gates of Whitecrown Fortress. Follow the quest marker to the site where you should play the flute, which is indicated by a small white beam on the ground. There, play a shorter rendition of Kalavinka on the flute.
4. Play the Flute in Heroic Tomb
Travel further southwest to reach Heroic Tomb in the Ayisu sub-region, near the lake going to the tombs. Play the flute again to complete Monk Unknowing's request.
5. Return to Monk Unknowing
Return to Peaceward Camp and talk to Monk Unknowing to finish the quest and earn the Flute of the Tides Mystic Skill.

Completing the quest Flute of the Tides rewards you with the Mystic Skill of the same name. This Mystic Skill allows you to unleash a wide burst of damage followed by a flute that deals continuous strikes to nearby enemies.
