OPUS: Prism Peak Overview
OPUS: Prism Peak is a narrative-driven adventure game that tells the story of Eugene, a photojournalist traveling back to his home in the countryside in an attempt to escape the pressures of city life. Taking on the role as Eugene, players will meet a young girl on the train ride back, only to find the pair yanked into a different world—one of magical realism, folklore, and new connections. From there, players will encounter spirits of all shapes, sizes, and stories as they accompany their new friend and find a path back home.
Prism Peak is the fourth title in the OPUS series, created by developer SIGONO. The OPUS games are known for their imaginative settings and heartfelt stories, and Prism Peak with its gentle and deeply reflective themes reminiscent of films by Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children, Mirai) and Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli, falls in line with that tradition.
OPUS: Prism Peak Gameplay
OPUS: Prism Peak makes use of photography mechanics as a means for players to interact with the world around them. As Eugene, players must take photos and piece together the clues they’ve gathered to figure out how to leave the magical realm they're stuck in. Players will also need to take on requests from different spirits found in the mountain to capture certain scenes and secrets hidden in the area.
OPUS: Prism Peak also has multiple endings depending on their friendships with these creatures, the photos they take, and other choices they make.
