Pickup Effect

Attacking Pokemon from the opposing team will pilfer their battle item. Defeating a wild Pokemon will pilfer a random battle item. This ability goes on cooldown after it's triggered. Moving toward Aeos energy or gold coins increases the Pokemon's movement speed. Picking up gold coins increases the Pokemon's movement speed for a short time.

How to Use Pickup

Take Advantage of the Stolen Battle Item

When Meowth attacks opponents, it steals their battle item, and if the target is a wild Pokemon, it steals a random battle item.

This effect allows Meowth to be a bit more flexible in matches since apart from having an initial battle item equipped, it can target specific opponents and steal their battle item, which can be useful in certain situations.

Remember that you can see your opponents' battle items during the loading screen before the start of each match, so it's best to take note of them.

Always Pick Up Coins for the Speed Boost

When Meowth picks up a gold coin, its movement speed is increased for a duration. This effect makes Meowth hard to catch, especially when triggered consistently.

If you want to fully utilize this effect, pick Pay Day and Feint Attack as Meowth's primary moveset since those moves allow the Pokemon to quickly generate coins.
