Double Hammer Build Explanation

This is a crowd-control build centered on using Ice Hammer and Gigaton Hammer to deal area damage and inflict status effects on opponents.

  • Weakness Policy gives Tinkaton durability and damage via HP and Attack, respectively.
  • Attack Weight provides Tinkaton with a large flat amount of Attack stat, increasing its overall damage output.
  • Resonant Guard supplies Tinkaton with more HP and HP regeneration and acts as a passive utility tool for the Pokemon when fightning in the frontlines.
  • Focus Band can be a replacement for Resonant Guard for better defenses and a survivability tool.
  • Aeos Cookie can also be a replacement for Resonant Guard for more HP since it can be stacked together with Attack Weight.
  • Eject Button gives Tinkaton a repositioning tool in addition to Ice Hammer.
  • X Speed can also work for the build.
  • The build's Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Brown Emblems for more damage and 6 White Emblems additional HP. This can be achieved by having at least two (2) Emblems that are both Brown and White.
  • Equip Emblems that improve Attack or HP to further boost Tinkaton's damage and durability.
  • Sp. Atk., Sp. Def., and Defense can be freely traded for the other stats.

Since the build is centered on Ice Hammer and Gigaton Hammer, equipping items that will maximize their damage is the ideal item combination.

As the results show, Muscle Band or Razor Claw, Attack Weight, and Weakness Policy will be the best for the build. However, Razor Claw will be more beneficial for the build in the long run since Tinkaton can follow up with an attack after using Ice Hammer or Gigaton Hammer, dealing a decent amount of damage, especially when the attack is a boosted attack.

For a more defensive build, Resonant Guard, Aeos Cookie, or Focus Band would to be the best item for the build.

These damage tests are conducted using the Training Dummy in Practice Mode. The results are taken from the Total Damage data.

Thief-Smack Build Explanation

This build revolves around weakening opponents with Thief, then using Smack Down to deal massive damage. The key to this build is utilizing Thief's Defense and Sp. Def. steal effect to soften up targets and making sure to max out on Mold Breaker to increase Smack Down's range.

  • Muscle Band improves Tinkaton's attacks via increased damage and attack speed, especially when used with Thief.
  • Razor Claw works particularly well with Thief, allowing Tinkaton to deal increased damage in a single attack after activating the move.
  • Attack Weight provides Tinkaton with a large flat amount of Attack stat, increasing its overall damage output.
  • Eject Button gives Tinkaton a repositioning tool in addition to Thief's movement speed buff.

Move Explanation
Gigaton Hammer ImageGigaton Hammer Gigaton Hammer is a powerful and disruptive crowd control move that deals massive amounts of damage when fully charged.
Ice Hammer ImageIce Hammer Ice Hammer is a strong, versatile crowd control dash move useful during teamfights and for setting up Gigaton Hammer.

Having two (2) moves that deal damage in an area allows Tinkaton to build up Mold Breaker stacks faster. The moveset is also generally better suited for the meta. Ice Hammer gives Tinkaton a dash move that slows opponents and reduces their Attack and Sp. Atk., which highly effective during teamfights as well as 1v1 situations. It also makes it easier for Tinkaton to set up Gigaton Hammer.

Gigaton Hammer provides Tinkaton with a powerful crowd control move that deals massive damage when fully charged. It can also purge certain debuffs due to its Unstoppable status effect.

How to Play Tinkaton

Build Up Mold Breaker Early

Tinkaton's strength will come primarily from its ability, Mold Breaker. Each time Tinkaton hits opponents with moves or boosted basic attacks, its hammer becomes stronger and its Attack increases, improving the Pokemon's overall damage potential. With this in mind, it's important to build up Mold Breaker stacks early on to maximize Tinkaton's damage output.

Prior to level 5, keep using Fairy Wind and Rock Smash on opponents whenever there's a chance but make sure not to overextend to prevent Tinkaton from being underleveled.

Mold Breaker: Tinkaton Passive Effect and Cooldown

Utilize the Move Power Up

Move Power Up
Rock Smash Larger area of effect
Gigaton Hammer Larger area of effect
Smack Down Longer range

When Tinkaton has 20, 40, and 60 stacks of Mold Breaker, Rock Smash, Gigaton Hammer, and Smack Down's effects improves. Make sure to utilize this effect to make them more effective.

Hit Shielded Opponents

Mold Breaker also allows Tinkaton to deal increased damage against opponents that have an active shield. Take advantage of this effect and use the shields opponents have against themselves.

Utilize the Healing from Boosted Attacks

Apart from dealing increased damage, Tinkaton recovers HP whenever it hits a target with boosted attacks. Utilize the healing from boosted attacks to stay alive longer during fights.

Morever, it's important to note that when Tinkaton takes hits from opposing Pokemon, its boosted attack's cooldown is reduced.

Weaken Opponents with Ice Hammer or Thief

Ice Hammer and Thief weaken the opponents hit by them. Ice Hammer reduces the Attack and Sp. Atk. of opponents, while Thief steals a portion of their Defense and Sp. Def. when Tinkaton attacks after activating the move.

Take advantage of their debuffs to give Tinkaton and its team an advantage during fights or during 1v1 situations.

Utilize Gigaton Hammer's Unstoppable Status Effect

Remember that Tinkaton gains the Unstoppable status effect while charging Gigaton Hammer, making it immune to disables. Utilize this status effect and get aggressive when using Gigaton Hammer, especially during teamfights.

Gigaton Hammer: Tinkaton Move Effect and Cooldown

Utilize Smack Down's Long Range

Smack Down's range becomes extremely long when Tinkaton has maxed out on Mold Breaker stacks. Although the move is quite underwhelming compared to the others, having a long-ranged damage move opens new strategies for Tinkaton, such as sniping objectives from a safe distance.

With this in mind, it is important to quickly build up Mold Breaker stacks as fast as possible to make the most out of Smack Down.

Smack Down: Tinkaton Move Effect and Cooldown

Initiate with Kiss Bliss Kaboom

Kiss Bliss Kaboom is best used to initiate fights rather than finish off targets due to its stun effect. Although the move is Sure Hit, the kiss also affects opponents near the initial target, stunning them. Once stunned, Tinkaton can then use the move again to folllow up with a powerful slam.
