How many players banner

This will be a guide on how many players you can play with in Pokemon UNITE. We will also talk about how many players you can queue together with and the match types!

Total Number of Players

In Pokemon UNITE, up to a total of 10 players can compete with each other in a match and up to 5 players can be on a single team.

Teams will be split into two, one purple team and one orange team.

Each game mode has its own set rules to play by. There are also 4v4 and 3v3 modes.

Fun on Solo or With Friends

The game is perfectly fine playing on your own. However, you can also have a group of up to 4 friends to enjoy the game together!

Ranked Match

Ranked 5v5 Lobby

Number of Players Party Number Allowed
5 v 5 Groups of 1-3 and 5

Ranked match is a 5v5 game mode set on Remoat Stadium.

Due to being a competitive mode, players cannot queue together as a team of 4 members.

Standard Match

Standard Lobby 5v5

Number of Players Party Number Allowed
5 v 5 Groups of 1 - 5

Like ranked matches, standard matches are a 5v5 game mode set on Remoat Stadium.

Up to 5 members can queue together in this mode.

Quick Battle

Quick Match Lobby

Number of Players Party Number Allowed
4 v 4
3 v 3
Groups of 1-3 or 4

Quick battles only last 5 minutes in Pokemon UNITE. Currently, the mode can be split into two match types, 3v3 and 4v4.

Quick battles also has a daily rotation for the playable map. This means that if the map you want to play on it not available today, you will have to wait for the Daily Reset to play on it tomorrow.

4v4

This Quick Battle match type lets you queue with any number of teammates of up to 4 people.

The current available 4v4 maps are Mer Stadium and Shivre City.

3v3

Like the other Quick Battle match type, 3v3 mode lets you queue together with one or two friends.

The current available 3v3 map is Auroma Park.

Friendly Matches

Friendly Match

Friendly Matches let you invite up to 9 other friends, depending on the match type. All the rules of Friendly Matches are the same as the ones in Standard and Quick Battles.

The same problem persists in Quick Matches for Friendly match lobbies in that you are still limited to playing on the map that is currently in rotation.
