This build is centered on disabling enemies with Fire Spin and taking advantage of the cooldown reduction mechanic from an upgraded Mystical Fire. Use Fire Spin first to keep the target in place so you can easily hit them with a Mystical Fire. If done correctly, you will be able to chain multiple attacks together as long as you consistently hit a target.
Both Choice Specs and Wise Glasses increase your moves' overall damage output. For defense, Focus Band helps gives you extra durability for surviving skirmishes, especially during the early game.
Eject Button is the default battle item for the build, allowing you to reposition quickly when enemies approach to get clear shots. You can also equip X Speed for a similar effect. Should you want more damage, choose X Attack instead.
Your Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Green Emblems to maximize your moves' damage and 4 Emblems of any color. Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk since you'd want to maximize your burst damage. You can freely trade Attack and Critical-Hit Rate.

This build makes use of Flame Charge's fast-paced attacks and Mystical Fire's cooldown reduction to maneuver around and pin down your opponents. This build is great if you are looking at knocking down single targets.
Choice Specs and Muscle Band increase the damage you deal as you focus down on a target. The latter, in particular, is great for increasing your Standard Attack damage, especially since you will be spamming them. Focus Band increases your defenses and gives you a survivability tool to work with as you dash in and out of battles. However, you can also equip Buddy Barrier for a better team fight instead.
For Battle Items, can either equip X Speed or Eject Button, whichever works better for your high mobility playstyle.
Your Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Green Emblems to maximize your moves' damage, 3 Red Emblems for a bit of Attack Speed, and 1 Emblem of any color. Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk or HP since you'll mostly be diving in and out of fights. You can freely trade Attack and Critical-Hit Rate.

This build takes advantage of Delphox's arsenal of Area of Effect moves to deal damage across a wide area. Both Fire Blast and Fire Spin offer consistent damage while also having decent enough range for you to deploy them at the backlines during a team fight.
Choice Specs and Wise Glasses give you a decent boost to your moves' damage. Buddy Barrier gives you some durability through increased HP and a team fight tool. It also allows you to get extra shields when you activate your Unite Move, giving extra survivability when you are in a pinch.
X Attack Further increases your move's damage output.
Your Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Green Emblems to maximize your moves' damage and 4 Emblems of any color. Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk since the build is similar to the Ranged DPS Build. You can freely trade Attack and Critical-Hit Rate.

This build puts emphasis on Delphox's Unite Move, Fanciful Fireworks, and makes it more deadly on top of the debuffs it inflicts. Similar to the AoE Build, it utilizes the Fire Blast and Fire Spin to deal damage to multiple opponents in an area. Note that this build will make Delphox play more like a support Pokemon since your goal is to weaken the opposing team during team fights.
Wise Glasses is your core damage item, giving you a flat amount of Sp. Atk stat. Energy Amplifier acts as another source of damage when you use Fanciful Fireworks while also adding to Delphox's innately fast Unite Move charge rate. Lastly, Buddy Barrier increases your durability through increased HP and gives you a team fight tool.
X Speed is mainly used to help you reposition before activating your moves. It can also help you escape dangerous situations.
Your Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 7 Black Emblems for maxmimum move cooldown reduction, 2 Green Emblems for a bit of Sp. Atk, and 1 Emblem of any color Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk or HP since there are no Black Emblems that increases Sp. Atk. You can freely trade Attack and Critical-Hit Rate.
Item | Explanation |

![]() |
Sp. Atk. Specs is a decent alternative to Choice Specs and/or Wise Glasses, giving a higher Sp. Atk. boost when fully stacked. However, it does require Delphox to score early on to maximize its effect. |
![]() |
Buddy Barrier improves Delphox's durability through increased HP. It's also a great teamfight item, especially since its Unite Move recharges fast. |
![]() |
Energy Amplifier improves Delphox's Unite Moves' already-fast recharge rate. It also acts as another layer of damage increase after using its Unite Move. |
![]() |
Focus Band gives some durability via increased defenses and a survivability tool to Delphox. It's particularly effective with Flame Charge since you'll be dashing in and out of battles. |
![]() |
Wise Glasses further improves Delphox Sp. Atk. stat via a flat amount and a percentage-based increase. |
![]() |
Shell Bell gives Delphox a decent Sp. Atk. boost with healing and cooldown reduction as bonuses. It's also an alternative to Choice Specs and/or Wise Glasses. |
![]() |
Choice Specs gives a high Sp. Atk. stat to Delphox and improves its moves' burst damage. |
Item | Explanation |

![]() |
Eject Button makes up for Delphox's lack of mobility, especially if Flame Charge is not learned. |
![]() |
X Speed works similarly to Eject Button, giving Delphox some mobility to work with. |
![]() |
X Attack adds another layer of damage increase for Delphox's moves. |
Move | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() |
Mystical Fire is a great burst move that can easily pressure low HP opponents. Once upgraded, any move you pair with Mystical Fire will get a cooldown reduction once it hits a target, allowing you to chain together multiple attacks in a short time! |
![]() |
Fire Spin is a disabling move that also deals a decent burst of damage in an area. It has a seek mechanic where the move will go towards an opponent if it is near the affected area. |
Choosing a moveset for Delphox depends on whether you want to stay at and deal area damage from the backlines, or be more aggressive and mobile as a single-target assassin. If you prefer to be a backline caster with AoE, choose Fire Blastand Fire Spin. if you want to be more of a single-target assassin, opt for Mystical Fire and Flame Charge.

During the early game, take advantage of Delphox's long-ranged initial moveset to steal and secure Wild Pokemon. Will-O-Wisp, in particular, has high burst damage that can easily contest Wild Pokemon camps while also potentially dealing AoE damage to the nearest opponent Doing this will keep your EXP gain in pace to reach level 7 before the first objectives spawn.
Will-O-Wisp: Delphox Move Effect and Cooldown
Fire Spin can deal damage and stun multiple enemies caught in the vortex. Additionally, it has a seek mechanic, where the vortex moves towards an enemy if it is close enough to it. This essentially turns the move into a somewhat sure-hit move that can chase down and catch multiple opponents, causing mass stuns in the affected area.
Fire Spin: Delphox Move Effect and Cooldown
Fire Spin has enough range for you to activate it from a safe spot. One tactic you can do is to deploy near enemy goal zones, which will disrupt opponents from defending properly and allow your team to strike them down while they are stunned in place.
Because of its seeking mechanic, you can throw the move at the back of the line where the enemy Attackers reside. This will force them to let go of their position just to avoid the attack.
Once upgraded at level 11, Mystical Fire reduces all your move cooldowns by 1 to 2 seconds when it hits an enemy. This allows you to consistently bombard opponents with attacks to pressure or knock them down. Take note, however, that the cooldown reduction only activates whenthe move hits a target. Make sure to stun the target in place with Fire Spin or get close with Flame Charge first so you can get a clear shot and start chaining attacks.
Mystical Fire: Delphox Move Effect and Cooldown
Not only does Fanciful Fireworks deal continuous damage caught in the area of effect, it also decreases enemy movement speed and weakens healing received by the opposing Pokemon.
Fanciful Fireworks: Delphox Move Effect and Cooldown
Fanciful Fireworks affects a wide area, pressuring multiple opponents with continous damage. The move is similar to Trevenant's UNITE move, Phantom Forest, in which the move should be used pre-emptively before a clash happens. This way, your team can take advantage of the debuffs inflicted on the enemy team. A good place to use the move is at heavily contested are like the Zapdos area in the middle of the battlefield.
Fanciful Firework's healing debuff is strong enough to mitigate the HP recovery given by enemy goal zones. Use this to effectively push lanes, particularly when your team is doing a last push during the final stretch of the match.
Level | Objectives |
---|---|
1 - 7 | • Utilize your long-ranged moves to poke or harass enemies, but don't engage in a full-on fight until you reach level 7 • Start roaming the map and securing kills for your team once you have both of your primary move, preferably Fire Spin and Mystical Fire • Help secure Rotom and/or Drednaw |
8+ | • Once you reach level 9 and get Fanciful Fireworks, stick with your team and use it to get kills and secure objectives • Try to reach at least level 11 when or before Zapdos spawns for an upgraded move, especially when you're using Mystical Fire • Unleash all your moves to win a teamfight and secure Zapdos or help your team take it down quickly |
Level | Objectives |
---|---|
1 - 5 | • Clear the first wave of jungle camps and reach level 5 • Help the top lane first by securing Vespiquen and Combees, and, if possible, getting kills and scoring points |
6 - 9 | • Clear the second wave of jungle camps to reach at least level 7 • Once you have your primary moveset, help bottom lane while you wait for Drednaw • If possible, try to reach level 9 and get Fanciful Fireworks to secure Drednaw |
10+ | • Continue to farm wild Pokemon, secure objectives, and hunt targets • Try to level up to at least level 13 before or when Zapdos spawns • Unleash all your moves to win a teamfight and secure Zapdos or help your team take it down quickly |
