How to Participate in the Tournament

Navigate to the In-Game Tournament Screen

Go to the In-Game Tournament Screen by pressing the A button on the Switch, and tapping the UNITE Battle Ball Button on mobile.

Make a 5-Player Team

Pokemon UNITE - Invites and Create Team Preview

Making a 5-player team is the first essential step in participating for the In-Game Test Tournament! To make a team, access the tournament screen by tapping on the UNITE Battle Icon on the main menu screen then go to the Manage Teams tab.

Create a Team

Tapping the Create Team button will open up a Team Settings window where you can create a name for your team.

Disband Option

After creating a team, there is also the Disband button if you wish to delete your current team in order to manage or make a new team overall.

Get Invites From Other Players

Tapping or selecting the Invites button will show players that have sent you invites to be part of their team.

Leaving a Team

As a team member, leaving a team is an available option if you wish to join other teams, or create a team of your own.

Tournament Information

Rules and Regulations

Pokemon UNITE - 2nd In-Game Test Tournament Article Banner

For trainers who wish to participate in the Tournament, here's a list of the rules and regulations. Make sure to follow them, and secure a spot for your team!

  • The in-game tournament will be using Draft Pick mode, so all participating teams must have more than 12 Unite licenses, or else they will not be able to participate in the match.
  • Held Items are fixed at level 30, and trainers are not allowed to equip Pokemon emblems.
  • There are dedicated regions for all trainers worldwide. Players who live outside Japan can also participate, but all battles will be played using the AS02 server.

Rating System Adjustment

Pokemon UNITE takes player feedback into account, and have made adjustments regarding the rating system of the in-game tournament feature.

  • The rating system was adjusted and the tournament period is shortened to make it easier to match teams with similar ratings.
