Since the build is centered on attack damage, equipping items that will maximize Ceruledge's attack damage is the ideal item combination.
Out of all the item combinations, Muscle Band, Razor Claw, and Scope Lens will be the best for the build. Since the build relies primarily on attacks, this item combination provides everything Ceruledge needs from the start.
As for alternatives, replacing Attack Weight with Scope Lens would be the ideal choice. This takes away the need to stack an item and improves Ceruledge's critical-hit rate and damage.
These damage tests are conducted using the Training Dummy in Practice Mode. The Attack Damage results are taken from the Basic Attack Damage data while the move damage are taken from the Total Damage data.
Note: The numbers in bold are the highest result for a specific test. |

This build is centered on bursting down targets using Bitter Blade and Phantom Force. The key to this build is utilizing the invisibility effect of Phantom Force and the healing from Bitter Blade.

Item | Explanation |
---|---|
Attack Weight | Attack Weight provides Ceruledge with a large Attack stat boost, improving its overall damage output. |
Energy Amplifier | Energy Amplifier gives Ceruledge a large damage boost when it uses Revenant Rend. It also gives cooldown reductions. |
Scope Lens | Scope Lens increases Ceruledge's critical-hit rate and damage, making its attacks deadlier. |
Muscle Band | Muslce Band improves Ceruledge's attacks via increased damage and attack speed. |
Razor Claw | Razor Claw allows Ceruledge to deal burst damage with its attacks whenever it uses a move. |
Curse Bangle | Curse Bangle gives Ceruledge damage and works well with its moves and attacks. |
Resonant Guard | Resonant Guard improves Ceruledge's durability via an HP boost and the ability to generate shields when dealing damage. |
Item | Explanation |
---|---|
Full Heal | Full Heal allows Ceruledge to purge negative status effects that could disrupt its attacks. |
Eject Button | Eject Button gives Ceruledge an additional mobility tool on top of its dash moves. |
Move | Explanation |
---|---|
Psycho Cut | Psycho Cut allows Ceruledge to weaken the opponents' Defenses, which can translate into higher damage. Allies can also take advantage of its effect, making it great in teamfights. |
Flame Charge | Flame Charge gives Ceruledge a useful mobility tool that also increases its attack speed. |
This moveset gives Ceruledge a good mix of damage and mobility. Psycho Cut slows targets and decreases their Defenses, allowing Ceruledge to deal more damage for a short duration. Flame Charge allows Ceruledge to trade blows more effectively by boosting its attack speed, which goes well with Psycho Cut's effects. It also gives Ceruledge a mobility tool.
Let us know why in the comments!
Ceruledge doesn't do that much prior to level 5. It's best to focus on reaching level 5 first at the start of the match before getting aggressive.
Make sure to use Lava Plume, Take Down, and Flame Body to help Ceruledge farm wild Pokemon and level up.
Ceruledge can also start off in the jungle instead to safely and quickly level up to level 5.
Ceruledge's ability, Weak Armor, boosts the Pokemon's movement speed whenever it receives Attack-based damage. This effect allows Ceruledge to stay on top of its target during fights or make a quick escape.
The ability also allows Ceruledge to deal damage over time whenever it hits opponents with attacks or moves, which can stack up to 6 times. If it does stack 6 times, the inflicted opponent takes increased damage from Ceruledge.
Make sure to utilize both effects to help Ceruledge win fights.
Weak Armor: Ceruledge Passive Effect and Cooldown
Ceruledge's Boosted Attack has it slash twice without a damage penalty. This also allows Ceruledge to trigger critical-hits twice and apply Weak Armor stacks faster. Make sure to use Ceruledge's Boosted Attacks as much as possible during fights to maximize its damage output.
Moreover, it's important to remember that Ceruledge's attacks automatically become Boosted Attacks whenever it uses a move, so make sure to command Ceruledge to attack whenever it uses a move.
When using Bitter Blade, Ceruledge needs to hit as many targets as possible within the move's arc to maximize the move's healing effect since the effect depends on the total damage the move deals.
Make sure to move Ceruledge while it's charging the move to catch as many targets as possible within the arc before it slashes.
Bitter Blade: Ceruledge Move Effect and Cooldown
Hitting enemies with Psycho Cut slows them and decerases their Defense for a duration. Make sure to always follow up with attacks and moves after hitting opponents with Pyscho Cut to take advantage of the particular effect.
Psycho Cut: Ceruledge Move Effect and Cooldown
Phantom Force ignores the opponents' shields and Defenses when it hits, dealing true damage to them. This effect is effective against high-durability Pokemon and/or Pokemon that can generate shields since Phantom Force will always deal full damage regardless of how high their Defense is or how large their shields are.
Phantom Force: Ceruledge Move Effect and Cooldown
Ceruledge can also use Phantom Force to avoid damage. Since the Pokemon disappears and can't be targeted for a while when the move is used, it can completely avoid incoming damage during this time window. This allows Ceruledge to bait opponents and do a counter attack.
Flame Charge increases Ceruledge's attack speed when it's used. This allows the Pokemon to trade blows more efficiently since it can quickly dish out damage with its attacks.
It's important to note that the move doesn't need to hit any targets for Ceruledge to gain the attack speed boost.
Flame Charge: Ceruledge Move Effect and Cooldown
Since Flame Charge has two (2) charges, the move can be used just as a general mobility tool to help Ceruledge traverse the map faster. It can also be used to move through walls.
Use Revenant Rend to start fights or finish off targets. The move has long range, can stun targets, and deals tons of damage, making great for teamfights.
Remember that Revenant Rend will stun and deal damage to opponents caught within its line, not only in the final destination.

Moreover, Ceruledge can use Revenant Rend after the second Psycho Cut to finish off the target. |

Matchup Notes | ||
---|---|---|
Hard Counter | Even Matchup | Easy Matchup |
1. The chart is based on our own experience playing Ceruledge. 2. Pokemon within each tier are unordered 3. Any Pokemon not shown here are still under investigation. |
Much like other melee brawlers, Ceruledge relies heavily on executing its combos to take out its targets. Pokemon with strong disabling moves can disrupt Ceruledge's gameplay and render it useless in fights.
Pokemon | Explanation |
---|---|
Blastoise | Rating: ★★★★★ • Can prevent Ceruledge from setting up its moves and also displace the Pokemon using Surf, Hydro Pump, and Hydro Typhoon. |
Mamoswine | Rating: ★★★★★ • Can constantly freeze Ceruledge using its moves and attacks. |
Alolan Ninetales | Rating: ★★★★ • Can freeze Ceruledge and deal considerable damage using Blizzard and Avalanche. |
Ceruledge's moves have mechanics that can help it fight against these Pokemon and gain the upper hand.
Ranged, Fragile Pokemon with High Damage |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon prefer to keep their distance from opponents when fighting. They also have high damage potential that can be dangerous for Ceruledge. However, they are fragile and can get knocked out by Ceruledge fast. • Quickly close the gap with Phantom Force or Flame Charge, then burst them down with Psycho Cut or Bitter Blade and attacks. • Alternatively, use Revenant Rend to close the gap and deal a ton of damage, then finish them off with attacks or moves. |
All-Rounders |
---|
How to Beat |
• Much like Ceruledge, these Pokemon excel in close combat and rely mostly on their attacks or combos to deal damage. They are also durable enough to tank Ceruledge's damage. Winning against them is a matter of taking advantage of Ceruledge's move effects and mechanics. • Weaken their Defense and slow them using Psycho Cut, then follow up with attacks and moves. • Heal through their damage and trade blows using Bitter Blade. • Deal true damage and dodge their attacks with Phantom Force. • Effectively trade blows with them by utilizing the attack speed boost from Flame Charge. • Alternatively, use Revenant Rend to initiate a fight or finish them off. |
High-mobility Pokemon with Burst Damage |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon are incredibly agile and deal high burst damage. However, they become vulnerable when they miss their burst damage attempt. • Use Phantom Force or Flame Charge to dodge their burst attempt, then retaliate with Psycho Cut or Bitter Blade and attacks. • Alternatively, use Revenant Rend to stun them and chip away their HP when they try approaching. |
Highly Durable Pokemon |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon are extremely durable, making it hard for Ceruledge to take them out alone. With that, it's best to group up with allies to bring them down with the help of Ceruledge. • Weaken their Defense and slow them using Psycho Cut, then follow up with attacks and moves. • Ignore their high Defense and shields and deal true damage using Phantom Force. • Stay on top of them and hit them with a flurry of attacks using Flame Charge. |
Easy matchups are Pokemon that can easily fall to Ceruledge's damage and has little to no means of escaping it once it gets close.
Supporters |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon usually stick with their allies and rarely venture alone. Although they themselves pose no threat to Ceruledge, their support capabilities makes them valuable during fights. • It's best to take them out first using any combination of moves and attacks. |
