Gyarados Will Release on January 25, 2024

Gyarados is expected to join the Pokemon UNITE Roster on January 25, 2024! This confirmation comes from a New Year's announcement of the official Pokemon UNITE Twitter account.

We will be updating this page as we get more news about this new Pokemon, so stay tuned!

Since Gyarados will be an All-Rounder, it will have a high offense and endurance stats, which is typical for that role.

Gyarados Moves and Ability

Dragon Current

Gyarados dives underwater, where it can't attack or be targeted by opponents. When the move is used again, Gyarados leaps up forcefully and attacks. If Gyarados stays underwater long enough, it'll create a whirlpool or a waterspout where it surfaces!

Waterfall

Gyarados charges three times in a row at rapid speed, dealing damage to opponents that it hits! The second charge grants a shield if it hits, and the third charge throws the opponent!

Aqua Tail

Gyarados swings its tail continuously for a set amount of time. If it hits an opponent 3 times, it can be used again!

Splash and Flail

Pokemon UNITE - Magikarp and Gyarados Splash and Flail

All Gyarados starts as a Magikarp. Magikarp is confirmed to learn both Splash and Flail as its starting moves in Pokemon UNITE. These moves start pretty weak like Magikarp but devote enough patience and you will be rewarded with the power of Gyarados!

Fills a Gauge After Using Splash

Pokemon UNITE - Magikarp Needs to Fill a Gauge

As confirmed in the screenshot above, Magikarp needs to fill a gauge to seemingly making it evolve to Gyarados. Using Splash enough times would fill this meter up and we expect other activities to fill this as well!
