1 In the Main Menu, go to the Trainer Menu. Then, select Friends.

2 Click Friend Search. Then input the Trainer Code.

3 Press the Magnifying Glass button and the Trainer you are looking for will pop up. Add the trainer by pressing the purple silhouette icon with a + symbol next to it.

4 A prompt will pop up, confirming that the friend request has been sent.

Add Friends Using QR

Add Friends Using QR Scanner (Only Works for Mobile)
1 In the Main Menu, go to the Trainer Menu. Then, select Friends.

2 Go to Friend Search, then tap the QR Scanner icon beside the input bar.

2.1 If a prompt appears asking your permission to access your phone's camera, select any of the allow options.
You can select While using this app to always allow Pokemon UNITE to access your camera when needed.

3 Simply scan the QR code of a player. It should look like the image below.

Generate Your QR Code

1 In the Main Menu, go to the Trainer Menu. Then, tap on your Trainer Profile.

Use Nearby Share

Pokemon UNITE - Nearby Share

Playing with people connected to the same internet connection is also an option on Mobile! You just have to connect via Bluetooth or the local wifi you are using. From there you can initiate a Local Area Network or LAN and play with other trainers connected to the same connection.

Send Friend Request After a Match

Pokemon UNITE - Send Friend Request After a Match

Similar to the Nintendo Switch, you can also send friend requests to other trainers you played within the results screen after a match. Firstly, you need to select the purple menu icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up the match details. Then, on the Overview tab, simply tap on the friend request icon beside the player you want to add.

A message prompt will show up, confirming that you have successfully added the trainer. If it doesn't pop up immediately, perhaps your device has run in some connectivity issues.

New Way to Add Friends After a Match

You can now also send friend requests to your teammates in the victory screen. Just tap the add friend icon on top of the player to send a request.

Send Friend Request After a Match

You can also send friend requests to the trainers you played within the results screen after the match. Simply select the player you wish to add as a friend and select Add Friend to send a request. If you want to keep playing with a trainer, send them a friend request!

New Way to Add Friends After a Match

How to Find Trainer ID

Pokemon UNITE - Registration Trainer ID

Each player will get a unique 7-character code called the Trainer ID after creating their Pokemon UNITE account. It is used to add trainers in-game.

How to Find Trainer ID in Mobile

Clicking your icon from the Main Menu leads you to the Trainer Menu. From there, on the right side is your trainer profile. On the bottom left is where you can find your Trainer ID! Send this to friends and other Trainers who want to add you.

How to Find Trainer ID in Nintendo Switch

To view your Trainer ID, press the L button in the main menu to access your Trainer Information. Your Trainer ID is the combination of numbers and letters above your name.

4 A menu will show listing all you friends. Select a player, then select Invitation. An invitation will be sent to your friend.

Everyone Must Unlock the Game Mode

Game Mode Availability
Standard Battle Available from the start.
Ranked Match Unlocked at Trainer Level 6 and above.
Quick Battle Unlocked at Trainer Level 8 and above.

You cannot invite your friends to a Ranked Match nor Quick Battle if they have not unlocked those modes yet. Standard Battle is the only mode that you and your friends can join together immediately. It is best to raise your trainer level fast to unlock all modes.

Use the Lobby ID

You can join a match even if you are not friends with the host by asking for the 8-digit Lobby ID of their match. Once obtained, you can enter the lobby ID in the Lobby Search on the home screen.

Pokemon UNITE - Friends List

You can view all the players you added in the Friends menu. You can also see their current level, and if they are online, offline, or currently in a match.

500 Friend Limit

Each player can only add up to 500 trainers to their friends list. It is a high number, so feel free to send friend requests to other trainers you want to play with!
