Build Explanation |
---|
This build is centered on healing allies using Moonlight and preventing enemies from using their dash moves with Gravity. |
· Exp. Share increases Clefable's HP and movement speed, and it makes leveling up for itself and its lane partner faster. · Energy Amplifier gives Clefable cooldown reduction for its moves, particularly its Unite Move. It also synergizes well with a majority of the random moves it gets from Wonder Wish, increasing their damage significantly. · Buddy Barrier adds more HP and gives an additional source of shielding when Clefable uses Wonder Wish. · Rescue Hood can be a great replacement for Energy Amplifier, trading cooldown reduction and damage for better healing and shielding. · X Speed gives Clefable a versatile mobility tool. · However, Eject Button can also work with the build for the same purpose. · The build's Boost Emblem loadout should consist of 6 Green Emblems for more healing and damage and 7 Black Emblems for cooldown reduction. · This can be achieved by equipping at least three (3) Emblems that are both Green and Black. · Equip Emblems that improve Sp. Atk or HP for more healing or durability, respectively. · Attack and Critical-Hit Rate can be freely traded for the other stats. |

Build Explanation |
---|
This build utilizes the provoke effect of Follow Me to set up for Clefable's team and following up with Draining Kiss. Although the build looks offense-focused, Clefable should still be opening up opponents for its team to take advantage of. |
· Energy Amplifier gives Clefable cooldown reduction for its moves, particularly its Unite Move. It also synergizes well with a majority of the random moves it gets from Wonder Wish, increasing their damage significantly. · Shell Bell provides Clefable with a decent amount of Sp. Atk., increasing its overall damage output, particularly for Draining Kiss, and gives more cooldown reduction for its moves. It also adds another source of healing whenever the Pokemon uses any move, especially Draining Kiss. · Slick Spoon allows Clefable to ignore a portion of its targets' Sp. Def., translating to more damage, especially for its moves. · However, for a more damage, replace Shell Bell with Wise Glasses. · Eject Button gives Clefable another repositioning tool to set up Draining Kiss and Follow Me. |

Since the build is centered on Draining Kiss, equipping items that will maximize its damage and/or healing is the ideal item combination. Energy Amplifier is a core item for the build, leaving only two (2) items for consideration.
Out of all the item combinations, Slick Spoon and Shell Bell will be the best for the build. It scored the second highest in terms of Draining Kiss healing with decent damage but does require Clefable to stack an item.
As for alternatives, replacing Shell Bell with Wise Glasses would be the ideal choice. The item combination generated decent results for Draining Kiss' healing and damage.
Note: The numbers in bold are the highest result for a specific test. |

Item | Explanation |
---|---|
Exp. Share | Exp Share allows Clefable to keep up with the exp gain without needing to farm Wild Pokemon extensively. |
Sp. Atk. Specs | Each stack bonus of Sp. Atk Specs increases Clefable's Sp. Attack stat significantly. Aside from potential damage, getting the full stacks makes Clefable's healing even more powerful. |
Buddy Barrier | Buddy Barrier gives Clefable more durability with extra HP. The item also gives extra shields for Clefable and an ally each time you activate your Unite Move. |
Wise Glasses | Wise Glasses gives a flat amount of Sp Attack while also boosting the stat by a percentage. Since Clefable's heal moves scales with Sp. Attack, the item increases Clefable's healing power. |
Slick Spoon | Slick Spoon improves Clefables damage output by allowing it to ignore a portion of its targets' Sp. Def. It also gives a decent amount of Sp. Atk. and HP. |
Rescue Hood | Rescue Hood amplifies Moonlight and Wond Wish's healing effect, making them more effective. It also makes Clefable more durable thanks to the item's Sp. Def. and Defense stat increase. |
Item | Explanation |
---|---|
Slow Smoke | Slow Smoke can be used as an extra hindrance tool for pinning down opponents for your team to knock down. It can also be used for retreating when you get cornered by the enemy team. |
Eject Button | Eject Button gives Clefable a great repositioning tool to set up its moves, particularly Draining Kiss. |
X Speed | X Speed gives Clefable extra movement speed so you can reposition during fights and keep up with its allies. The item also protects Clefable from enemy disables. |
Move | Explanation |
---|---|
Moonlight | Moonlight is a straightforward recovery move that can heal multiple allies at once in a wide area. It can potentially help you and your team get ahead during crucial team fights with just raw durability! |
Gravity | Gravity allows Clefable to trap enemies in a dark zone while being able to pressure them with enhanced attacks. It is also a great counter for highly-mobile opponents that rely on hit-and-run tactics! |
This moveset turns Clefable into a full-time supporter that has it disrupt opponents while giving out high amounts of HP recovery. Alternatively, Draining Kiss, gives Clefable the damage it needs to keep up with farming Wild Pokemon as well as dealing pressure to stave off opponents. Although the move sacrifices AoE heals, Draining Kiss can be a sufficient healing move for highly durable lane partners, particularly All-Rounders and Defenders. Moreover, Clefable can learn Follow Me for more aggression and disruption.

---|---|
Clefable's effectiveness in combat relies on your ability in providing heals for your allies as well as open up opponents for your team to take advantage of. See to it that you maintain your passive gameplay and support your team by any means necessary.
While Clefable is capable of pressuring opponents with damage, you should not depend on Clefable's offense to get knockdowns. Instead, you will want to focus on either healing your ally to give them more time in battle or opening up opponents with your hindrance moves for your ally to follow through.
Overall, do not actively seek out opponents to knock down. Use Clefable's moves defensively, and only engage in fights only if your allies prompted the engagement.
As a support Pokemon, you will want to avoid roaming too far from your allies and missing out on important clashes. This is especially true when contesting important objectives like Regieleki and Rayquaza as those battles mostly have both teams going on full blast. It is important that you will provide aid to your allies before or during team fights so they can benefit from your healing and disabling move. You do not want to join and engage in a fight after your whole team falls, as Clefable's lack of high-damage moves will not be able to finish off opponents.
Objectives Guide (Remoat Island): When to Target Bosses
For most of the early game, you will depend on Disarming Voice for farming exp and fighting opponents. Although the move does not pack that much damage, its value lies in its sure-hit, AoE attack, where you can deal damage from range instantly. It is best to use the move to steal Wild Pokemon spawns from the opposing team and deny them EXP. And, thanks to the move's relatively wide range, you can even hit opponents too and pressure them enough to stave them off their position.
Disarming Voice: Clefable Move Effect and Cooldown
When it comes to learning your healing move upgrade, Clefable can continue its passive gameplay with high-intensity heals or sacrifice some healing and utility for more damage. Although both moves are viable heal outlets, they offer different playstyles that will determine how Clefable should act when its support is needed in battle.
Moonlight is a straightforward healing move that can easily fill up an ally's HP in a matter of seconds, especially when it gets the full amount of ticks. It has a wide area that can potentially bring HP recovery to all team members during a fight. Take note, however, going for this move locks you into the pure support playstyle as you will not be able to contribute to the team's offense. This also means that your farming efficiency will take a hit as you will not be able to deal as much damage.
Moonlight: Clefable Move Effect and Cooldown
Draining Kiss trades a direct way of healing allies for more damage. The move incentivizes you for getting aggressive with an AoE attack allowing you to hit multiple opponents at once and quickly heal an ally in the process. If there is no ally Pokemon near you, however, the healing will be directed to Clefable! Moreover, you can take advantage of the multi-hit and heal by farming the Altaria and Swablu spawns that are clump together. Take note, however, you cannot directly heal your allies out of combat as you will need to target an enemy to get the healing benfits.
Draining Kiss: Clefable Move Effect and Cooldown
Aside from an increase in move damage, the amount of HP Clefable can provide with its healing moves like Moonlight and Wonder Wish scales up with the Pokemon's Special Attack Stat. Simply put, the higher your Special Attack, the more heals you and an ally will receive. This also means that stacking bonuses with Sp. Atk. Specs can drastically increase Clefable's healing once you reach full stack.
Attack Vs. Special Attack | Physical and Special Damage Explained
Clefable's passive ability, Magic Guard, incentivizes you with extra shields for healing allies. This interaction allows Clefable to further increase its survivability, especially when fights go chaotic. As much as possible, activate either Moonlight or Draining Kiss near allies to get the most value out of the passive ability.
Magic Guard: Clefable Passive Effect and Cooldown
When Clefable reaches level 6, it will have access to its hindrance move - Gravity or Follow Me. This allows the Pokemon to further support the team by disabling opponents and setting up knockdowns. Depending on the opposing team's composition, one move may offer more utility than the other.
Follow Me is a more aggressive move that has Clefable sprinting toward an area and pulling opponents with it. The move turns Clefable into bait for enemies to follow, allowing your teammates to take advantage of the charm effect.
A good strategy is to flank the enemy team and activate the move behind enemy lines and hitting enemies along the way to make them let go of their positioning. This is best used for enemy Attackers that rely on dealing damage from a safe distance.
Follow Me: Clefable Move Effect and Cooldown
Gravity lets you create a dark zone to trap opponents. While inside the zone, Clefable's attacks will be enhanced, and enemy movement speed will be reduced. Moreover, opponents looking to dash past the affected area will be stopped and stunned for a short amount of time, allowing you and your teammates to pin opponents in place if they get aggressive.
Learn this move if you are up against highly mobile opponents that rely on hit-and-run tactics like Speedsters or slippery brawlers like All-Rounders.
Gravity: Clefable Move Effect and Cooldown
Wonder Wish is a great team fight move that allows you to heal up your allies in an instant. Because of this, the move is best used during crucial team fights where you can get ahead by mere durability. Combine the move with the healing effects of Moonlight, and you got yourself a heal engine that can keep your team from falling in battle!
Wonder Wish: Clefable Move Effect and Cooldown

Self Destruct | Clefable lets out a burst of energy, dealing damage to enemies within the area of effect. This moves activates automatically when Wonder Wish is activated. Total Damage (Lvl. 15): 5372 |

Fly | Clefable flies up into the sky and becomes untargetable. If the move is used again, Clefable lands to the designated area deals damage to enemies in the area of effect. Total Damage (Lvl. 15): 3490 |
Hydro Pump | Clefable blasts out a huge volume of water, dealing damage to enemies while shoving them. Total Damage (Lvl. 15): 2700 (Far) / 4500 (Close) |
Hyper Beam | Clefable charges up power, and then unleash a beam of light that sweeps up the ground in a straight line. In addition to the beam's base damage, it also deals additional damage to opposing Pokemon it hits equal to a set percentage of their max HP. Total Damage (Lvl. 15): 17,685 (HP-based) |
After activating Wonder Wish, you will have an extra move activation that lasts for 10 seconds. The extra move is chosen at random - ranging from the high damaging Hyper Beam to a disruptive Block. Although all the bonus moves are generally helpful, the randomness prevents you from realizing specific plays. Fortunately, thanks to Wonder Wish's low recharge rate, 89 seconds, it is possible to use the move frequently in a single match.
Moon Trap Combo | |
---|---|
|
|
This combo sees Clefable getting aggressive with Gravity. For the best result, perform this combo with at least one (1) ally. Start by getting close to the target. Then, activate Gravity to trap them in place. Since they will be forced to engage, immediately activate Moonlight to recover HP from their attacks. After that, proceed to bombard the target with enhanced Standard Attacks from Gravity. |
Multi-Heal Pull Combo | |
---|---|
|
|
Follow Me
►
Draining Kiss
►
Standard Attack
~ |
|
This combo utilizes the multi-AoE hit and heals from Draining Kiss with Follow Me as a setup. For the best value, you can either pull the targets towards allies or clump opponents together to get multiple hits at once. Start by flanking the enemy and activating Follow Me towards an advantageous position. After the targets are pulled by Follow Me's effect, quickly activate Draining Kiss to deal damage to them and heal up. Proceed to pressure the targets with Standard Attacks. |
Ultimate Wonder Aggression Combo | |
---|---|
|
|
This combo is best performed during team fights. Note that the move you get by activating Wonder Wish is random. At best, you will be able to burst down the target with a Hyper Beam. At worst, you will just push them back with a Block or a Hydro Pump. Overall, the focus of this combo is to open up your enemies and heal your allies during the clash. Treat the extra move you get from Wonder Wish as a bonus.
Start by hindering the enemy team using either Gravity or Follow Me. Then activate Moonlight to heal your allies. Be sure to position yourself in the middle of the team for the best healing value. Then, activate Wonder Wish to heal your allies even more. Depending on the extra move you get from Wonder Wish, you may be able to contribute damage to knock down opponents. |
Matchup Notes | ||
---|---|---|
Hard Counter | Even Matchup | Easy Matchup |
1. The chart is based on our own experience playing Clefable. 2. Pokemon within each tier are unordered 3. Any Pokemon not shown here are still under investigation. |
Even though Clefable can sustain itself with HP recovery, it is still slow enough for Pokemon with high damage to take advantage. Also, its effectiveness in combat drastically falls down if it is away from its allies.
Pokemon | Explanation |
---|---|
Glaceon | Rating: ★★★★★ • Can shred through Clefable's healing using Icicle Spear or Icy Wind, or attacks via Ice Shard. |
Zacian | Rating: ★★★★★ • Can shred through Clefable's healing and punish its allies using Sacred Sword or Metal Claw, attacks, and Sovereign Sword. |
Leafeon | Rating: ★★★★ • Can burst down Clefable quickly using Leaf Blade, Solar Blade, and Emerald Two-Step. |
Since Clefable will be sticking with its allies most of the time and doesn't do much damage, providing consistent support is the only way for it to win against these Pokemon.
Attackers and All-Rounders |
---|
How to Beat |
• Attackers Pokemon prefer to keep their distance from opponents when fighting. They also have high damage potential that can be dangerous for Clefable and its allies. On the other hand, All-Rounders excel in close combat and rely mostly on their attacks or combos to deal damage. They are also quite durable. However, Clefable's Moonlight can heal through their damage and allow its allies to deal with them. • Use Moonlight to keep Clefable and its allies healthy. • Use Gravity once Clefable gets close to them to slow them. • Use Wonder Wish when an ally's HP is dangerously low, then utilize whatever move Clefable gets afterwards. • If Clefable gets Close Combat, Fly, Hydro Pump, or Hyper Beam, use it to burst them down or at least deal some considerable damage. • If Clefable gets Block, use it to cut off their escape path and shove them back towards allies. |
Supporters |
---|
How to Beat |
• Much like Clefable, these Pokemon usually stick with their allies and rarely venture alone. Winning against them is a matter of providing better support than them. • Stay close to allies, especially damage dealers, and keep using Moonlight to heal them. • Use Gravity when Clefable gets close to them to slow them and prevent dash moves. |
Highly Durable Pokemon |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon are extremely durable and have crowd control moves, making it difficult for Clefable and its allies to take them down. However, their damage isn't high enough to be a threat to Clefable nor its allies. Winning against them is a matter of dodging their crowd control moves so Clefable is able to constantly support its allies. • Use Moonlight to keep Clefable and its allies healthy. • Use Gravity once Clefable gets close to them to slow them and prevent their dash moves. |
Although Clefable will never win in a head-to-head battle against these Pokemon due to its lack of damage, it can certainly be a nuisance for them thanks to Moonlight and Gravity.
Pokemon with Dash Moves/Attacks |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon have dash moves and attacks that are central to their gameplay. • Use Gravity to slow them and prevent their dash moves or attacks. • Use Moonlight to quickly heal up any damage they deal. |

Her Moonlight/Unite healing is nice and she's really a backliner who drops Gravity when retreating or approaching with a number advantage. Her bulk is the worst of all the Supports... And she's Melee... Yeah, once you figure out how sad she is up close, bam, EZ EXP (except Char/Talon/etc). She has an easier time with Wilds when compared to most Supports so that's good. Ultimately an AoE Heal/Disabler, like Wiggly+Eldegoss slapped together. Except frailer than either of them.

I agree, it's also more fun to play than Blissey imo
