What is Custom Battle?

Replaced Friendly Match

Pokemon UNITE - Custom Battle Screen

Custom Battle is a new game mode that replaced Friendly Matches as part of the 1.4.1.2 Update. It functions the same as Friendly Matches but has new features.

Identical to Tournament Mode

Pokemon UNITE - Tournament Mode Custom Rules

Custom Battle came alongside with the Tournament Mode. They are essentially the same, but the only difference is that Tournament Mode has the Custom Rules feature.

Features

All Maps are Available

Pokemon UNITE - Custom Battle Maps

Players can choose from all maps available in the game to play in, including Quick Battle maps.

Play with Bots

Pokemon UNITE - How to Add Bots in Custom Battles

Players can play against computer-controlled Pokemon by adding bots. They can add as many bots as they want as allies or enemies, allowing for handicap matches like 3v5.

Play with Other Players

Pokemon UNITE - Custom Battle Invite Friends

Players can also invite other players or their friends to a match. It works the same way as in the other game modes.

Add Admins to a Match

Pokemon UNITE - Admins in Custom Battle

Player can now add Admins to a match, capping up to 5 Admins. Admins have previledges that the players don't have during the game, including but is not limited to: the ability to have vision over both teams, to see the teams' total scores, and observe each player individually.

Players can either assign themselves as Admins or other players.

How to Add Admins
1 Pokemon UNITE - Add Admin
Select one of the + symbols just below the Lobby ID.
2.1 Pokemon UNITE - Add Admin
To assign yourself as an Admin, select Position Change.
2.2 Pokemon UNITE - Assign Player as Admin.png
To assign others/friends as an Admin, select Invite Friends.

How to Play Custom Battle

How to Play Custom Battle

Select Unite Battle in the main screen.
2 Pokemon UNITE - Custom Battle Screen.png
Select the Custom Battle game mode, then select Start.

Playing Custom Battle is the same as in other game modes. However, you can play alone, with bots, or with other players.
