Big Root's HP recovery effect also applies to HP Recovery moves, like Venusaur's Giga Drain, increasing the amount of HP a Pokemon recovers when using the move.
In the video, we did a test to verify this. We found that without Big Root, Giga Drain healed 663 HP, but when the item (level 30) was equipped, it now healed 795 HP, which is about a 20% increase just like what's mentioned in the item's effects.
Additionally, although not included in the video, we did a third test with only Aeos Cookie (level 30) equipped. In that test, Giga Drain also healed 663 HP, ruling out the possibility that max HP had something to do with the increase.
