This is a guide on selecting a country and region in Pokemon UNITE. Read on to know what countries and regions are available, if regions can affect matchmaking, and more!

How to Select a Region

When you first start Pokemon UNITE, you will be asked to select a Country and a Region. It's best to pick the country you live in. If your country is not available, don't worry, choosing any country is fine and has not been found to have any effect on gameplay.

Confirm Country and Region

Pokemon UNITE - Region Confirmation
After selecting your Country, it will then ask you to choose a Region. The game will warn you that choosing a country or a region cannot be changed.

How to Change Region

Create a New Account

There is currently no confirmed way to change your selected region on your current account. Actually, it's impossible to delete your account or unsync it from your Nintendo Account, so the only way to start again in a new region is to use a different profile on your Nintendo Switch with a separate Nintendo Account.

If you don't already have a separate profile with a connected Nintendo Account, it will be necessary to create a new one.

Best Region to Use

Choose the Country and Region You Live In

As the Country and Region does not seem to have any effect on gameplay, you're best off matching the region you actually live in. This will ensure that if any region-specific aspects are found in the future, you will not be excluded based on choosing a region you do not actually live in.

Does Not Affect Adding Friends

During our testing, we can confirm that you can add friends from a different country or region. There's no need to attempt to choose a different region to match the players you hope to play together with.

How to Add and Invite Friends

Affects the Terms of Service Displayed

Currently, your selected region and country only seems to affect the Terms of Service displayed upon creating your account. Be sure to choose your own region to ensure that you don't agree with a set of Terms of Service which do not actually apply to you.

I just started playing about 2 weeks ago, and I noticed that when I’m paired with other players from Asian countries, I get lag. Is this normal?
