This is a guide on how to play offline mode in Pokemon UNITE. Read on to know how to set up offline mode and how it is different from online mode.
With the latest version of Pokemon UNITE, Offline mode is now available for all platforms - Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS devices! You can access offline features by booting the game while not connected to the internet or choosing Offline Mode while at the start screen.
While in the Start Screen, tap the Offline Mode button at the upper-right side of the screen to access offline features. Like the Nintendo Switch version, you will be prompted with an option to reconnect or use Offline Mode when the game detects that you have no internet connection.
There is no way to play with other people or friends while in offline mode, even through local connections.
You are only limited to playing with CPU-controlled teammates and opponents. Moreover, you cannot set how many bots are present in a game like in a typical Friendly Match.
Offline mode lets you play as any Pokemon in the roster, even if you do not have their license. This is a great way to get familiar with the characters before you purchase them. Unfortunately, there is no way to review each Pokemon's moves before battle.
All Holowear you have unlocked or purchased online will be available to use in offline mode. If you want to use more costumes, you have to reconnect normally and purchase them at the in-game shop. Any Holowear you have not unlocked will be greyed out in the menu.
All Battle Items are unlocked for you to use in Offline Mode. This means you can try out items like Full Heal or Goal Getter even if you have not reached the trainer level to unlocked them.
Battle Item Tier List: Best Items to Use
Like the the Battle Items, all Held Items are unlocked for you to use. Note that all items have a level grade of 20, so you don't have to upgrade them. Having access to all items will allow you to test drive different build combinations for any Pokemon!
Important alerts and points of interest will pop up as you play the game. This is great for reminding players with the game's mechanics, since there is no way to access any tutorial info while in offline mode.
Offline mode only features Standard, 5 versus 5 Unite Battles. Other modes like Quick Battle or the Practice Area are not available while in this mode.
Completing matches in offline mode does not reward you with Aeos Coins or EXP. Additionally, quitting the match will not penalize you in any way.
Winning or losing matches while in this mode will not affect your Battle Record once you go back online.
