This build utilizes the buff from Agility to allow Galarian Rapidash to run around the battlefield while damaging opponents with either Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind. By default, Dazzling Gleam is selected for the build due to its low cooldown and ease of use. However, Fairy Wind will also work as it deals more damage and can stun opponents, but it is harder to execute.

Since the build is centered on Agility and Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind, equipping items that will maximize Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind's damage is the ideal item combination.
Out of all the item combinations, Choice Specs, Slick Spoon, and Shell Bell will be the best for the build. Although it did not generate the highest results, it still does decent damage, but the cooldown reduction and healing from Shell Bell adds more value to the build than just pure damage.
As for alternatives, replacing Shell Bell with Wise Glasses would be the ideal choice. The item combination deals the most damage.
These damage tests are conducted in Practice Mode with Goodra as the Training Partner. The Pokemon is set to level 15 and has no items equipped. The results are taken by substracting the Pokemon's max HP and its HP after taking damage.
Note: The numbers in bold are the highest result for a specific test. |

This build revolves around bursting down single targets using Smart Strike and Dazzling Gleam.

Since the build is centered on bursting down targets with Smart Strike and Dazzling Gleam, equipping items that will maximize their damage is the ideal item combination.
Out of all the item combinations, Choice Specs, Slick Spoon, and Sp. Atk. Specs will be the best for the build. The items combination generated the highest damage results. However, it does require Galarian Rapidash to fully stack Sp. Atk. Specs to gain the full benefit.
As for alternatives, replacing Sp. Atk. Specs with Wise Glasses would be the best option. The item combination produced the second best results but doesn't require any item to be stacked.
These damage tests are conducted in Practice Mode with Goodra as the Training Partner. The Pokemon is set to level 15 and has no items equipped. The results are taken by substracting the Pokemon's max HP and its HP after taking damage.

Item | Explanation |

![]() |
Sp. Atk. Specs provides Galarian Rapidash a large flat amount of Sp. Atk., increasing its overall damage output. |
![]() |
Wise Glasses provides Galarian Rapidash with a large amount of Sp. Atk. thanks to its percentage bonus. |
![]() |
Shell Bell gives Galarian Rapidash Sp. Atk., a bit of cooldown reduction, and healing. |
![]() |
Choice Specs gives Galarian Rapidash a decent amount of Sp. Atk. and increases its minimum move damage. |
![]() |
Slick Spoon gives Galarian Rapidash HP and Sp. Atk., and the ability to ignore a portion of the opponent's Sp. Def, leading to more damage as a result. |

X Speed allows Galarian Rapidash to maintain a high movement speed to help it gain Pastel Veil stacks and fill up its gauge. |
Move | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() |
Dazzling Gleam is a low-cooldown, area-of-effect move that's also incredibly easy to use. |
![]() |
Agility significantly improves Galarian Rapidash's mobility and makes it easier for the Pokemon to build up Pastel Veil stacks. |
This moveset makes Galarian Rapidash a complete menace in the battlefield and is incredibly easy to execute.
Dazzling Gleam deals a decent amount of damage in an area around Galarian Rapidash, but due to its low cooldown, the move can be used frequently, which translates to more damage.
Agility gives Galarian Rapidash exceptional mobility, allowing the Pokemon to quickly go in and out of fights all while spamming Dazzlling Gleam. It also makes it faster for Galarian Rapidash to gain Pastel Veil stacks.
Let us know why in the comments!
Galarian Rapidash's power spike starts when it reaches level 7 and learns both of its primary moves. While in the early game, it's best to focus on leveling up and reaching level 7 as fast as possible.
Utilize Confusion and Tackle to secure wild Pokemon and get early knockouts, but make sure not to overextend.

Galarian Rapidash gets a lot of its survivability from its ability, Pastel Veil. The only way to build up Pastel Veil and trigger its effects is by continuously running around. Once at 10 stacks, the ability grants Galarian Rapidash a shield and makes it more resistant to hindrances while the shield remains.
Moreover, it's important to note that the faster Galarian Rapidash can run the faster it can build Pastel Veil stacks, so keeping a high movement speed will be paramount to the Pokemon's impact.
With this in mind, always try to trigger Pastel Veil as often as possible when fighting as Galarian Rapidash will be more effective with the ability's effects.
Pastel Veil: Galarian Rapidash Passive Effect and Cooldown
Pastel Veil also allows Galarian Rapidash to deal bonus damage using its moves based on its movement speed.
Using X Speed, moves that increase Galarian Rapidash's movement speed, the speed flux zones, or green berries are some of the ways the Pokemon can increase its movement speed and deal bonus damage.
When using Agility, it's best to run around the battlefield while hitting opponents with Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind. This will be Galarian Rapidash's gameplay if it learns Agility as one of its moves.
Constantly hitting opponents with moves while Agility is active will prolong the move's duration, allowing Galarian Rapidash to maintain its high movement speed.

Smart Strike is a great move to set up Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind since Galarian Rapidash pounces on the designated target, allowing it to easily hit the target with Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Gleam afterwards.
For Dazzling Gleam, Galarian Rapidash can either use it before pouncing the target with Smart Strike or immediately after it.
When using Dazzling Gleam before Smart Strike, there's only a brief time window when Smart Strike can be used wherein upon reaching the target, Dazzling Gleam will also hit the target, so it's best to immediately use Smart Strike as soon as Dazzling Gleam is activated.

Triad Blitz deals high amounts of damage, stuns the target upon use, and traps it inside the space, making it a great move to initiate a fight. Prioritize using Triad Blitz on key targets like the opponent's carry or healer to give Galarian Rapidash and its allies a better chance of winning a teamfight.
Furthermore, Galarian Rapidash can use Dazzling Gleam while dashing during Triad Blitz or Fairy Wind after dashing for more damage.
Triad Blitz: Galarian Rapidash Move Effect and Cooldown
Unicorn Stampede Combo | |
---|---|
Start by using Agility to gain speed and fill up the Pastel Veil gauge. Once filled, simply dash in and out of fights while hitting opponents with either Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind. The key is to prolong Agility's duration as long as possible to maintain speed. |
Dazzling Strike Combo | |
---|---|
Initiate the combo by pouncing on the target with Smart Strike, then immediately following up with Dazzling Gleam. The combo can also be done in reverse, using Dazzling Gleam first, then immediately pouncing on the target with Smart Strike. Doing the combo this way deals damage in a faster time but requires precise timing since there's only a brief time window before Dazzling Gleam triggers upon activation. |

Since Galarian Rapidash needs to keep running to build Pastel Veil stacks and fill up its gauge, Pokemon that have immunity-piercing disables or moves that can block its path will force Galarian Rapidash to be more careful while running.
Pokemon | Explanation |
---|---|
![]() |
Rating: ★★★★★ • Can pierce through Galarian Rapidash's Pastel Veil Unstoppable status effect and disable it completely using Slowbeam. • Can disrupt Galarian Rapidash's movement using Surf and/or Telekinesis. |
![]() |
Rating: ★★★★ • Can prevent Galarian Rapidash's from moving freely using Mean Look. • Can steal Galarian Rapidash's shield and stun it using Moonlight Prance. |
![]() |
Rating: ★★★ • Can block Galarian Rapidash's path using Barrier. |
Making sure that Pastel Veil gauge is filled and utilizing its effects will allow Galarian Rapidash to get the upper hand against these Pokemon.
Ranged, Fragile Pokemon with High Damage |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon prefer to keep their distance from opponents when fighting. They also have high damage potential that can be dangerous for Galarian Rapidash. • Use Agility to quickly build up Pastel Veil gauge and head striaght for them, then use Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind to take them out. • Use Smart Strike to head striaght for them, then use Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind to take them out. • Alternatively, use Triad Blitz once near them and burst them down. |
All-Rounders |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon excel in close combat and rely mostly on their attacks or combos to deal damage. They are also durable enough to tank Galarian Rapidash's damage. • Use Agility to gain speed and build up the Pastel Veil gauge, then dash in and out while using Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind to hit them. • Use Smart Strike and Dazzling Gleam together to deal burst damage, then finish them with attacks. • Alternatively, use Triad Blitz as a last resort to initiate or finish them off. |
High-mobility Pokemon with Burst Damage |
---|
How to Beat |
• Much like Galarian Rapidash, these Pokemon are incredibly agile and deal high burst damage. However, they become vulnerable when they miss their burst damage attempt. • Use Agility to gain speed and dodge their burst attempt, then retaliate with Dazzling Gleam, Fairy Wind, and/or Triad Blitz. • Alternatively, use Smart Strike to strike first, then immediately follow up with Dazzling Gleam and/or Triad Blitz. |
Highly Durable Pokemon |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon are extremely durable, making it hard for Galarian Rapidash to take them out alone. With that, it's best to group up with allies to bring them down with the help of Galarian Rapidash. • Use Agility to gain speed, build up Pastel Veil, and stay on top of them while hitting them with Dazzling Gleam or Fairy Wind. • Use Smart Strike and Dazzling Gleam to chip away their HP and also stay on top of them. • Use Traid Blitz to lock them in place if needed. |
These Pokemon aren't a threat to Galarian Rapidash and can easily fall to the Pokemon's damage.

Supporters |
---|
How to Beat |
• These Pokemon usually stick with their allies and rarely venture alone. Although they themselves pose no threat to Galarian Rapidash, their support capabilities makes them valuable during fights. |
